Hello everybody, New to the JB4. My goal is to be able to run map 2 safely on an AWD 3.3 car. I always use 93 octane. My question is do I really need to buy Denso spark plugs, or can I simply regap the stock spark plugs to .024? I understand the stock spark plugs are pretty good and do not want to waste money on something unless it is really needed.
Thanks,
Ira

I believe people ARE using the stock plugs regapped to around 0.024 or 0.026. With jb4, I think regapped plugs only last 10-15k, maybe 20k..

My new set of IHK24 gaped to .022 lasted only 10-15k using Map 2 on 93 oct for a DD. Just FYI.

The whole "Densos" craze came about when Terry joined the forum in the summer of 2018. Terry sells Densos, of course...

Prior to that most of us used stocked plugs regapped. I ran map 2 on mine for nearly 20k miles with no problems.

Just change the plugs and not worry. I literally changed them in 40 minutes leisurely....it’s just so easy

I ran stock plugs gapped at 0.026" on Map 2 for a few months, then started running Map 4 (previously map 5) with an E30 blend. Plugs held up great. Recently swapped them out for Brisk plugs, and the OEM plugs looked perfect. Easily will last 20k, and safely on Map 2 with 93 octane.
