I can’t afford the price tag on a GT1 or GT2, but I’m hesitant to get a GT if I can add lane keep assist and smart cruise control. I drive tons of hwy miles, and those have become must haves. Please advise and thank you!

I have 2018 gt, and it has both of those systems. Not using them at all though.

I don't like the lane assist, it yells at you if you take your hands off for any significant period of time, so it's not really that useful. The thing that alerts you and corrects if you stray to the lane/marking is also pretty annoying. I can see the usefulness if I was really really tired...but then if I was driving in that condition, I probably don't need to be driving. The adaptive cruise control on the other hand...best thing ever for traffic. This is my 3rd car with.

It’s an option apparently, but can I add it on now?

Generally, no you cannot add electronic systems the car did not come with.

I mean, in all practicality no. To do stuff like this you usually have to get the sensors (integrated into the top of the window for cameras and radar in the bumper), have the correct windshield (usually a different spec than the non-version), get the wiring harnesses, get the car re-programmed to enable the features that are currently disabled, and so on. Yes, there are people that have done stuff like this, but it's generally not practical, it's usually in the thousands of dollars when all is said and done.

It shouldn't be too hard to find one of these that has the option. The key is usually identifying vehicles where this was a common option. The stinger is one of those vehicles. A lot of the used ones I've looked at had it.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
