I wanna get advantage of lease to buy thing with $7.7k manufacturer lease incentive. I'm not worried about availability of the cars in dealerships (there are tons of them where I am), and im sure that dealer discounts only gonna go up, but I'm worried about lease incentive - the last day of it listed as end of October, does it mean that there is gonna be even better deal in November or not? What history of similar incentives on other vehicles from KIA tells us?..

Here is some history I gathered for GT2 AWD (few includes AWD 1,000 incentives).

November 6800
December
January 7200
Feb
March 7200
April 7000
May 6500
June 6500
July 8900
August 8900
September 8700
October 8700

I think it will go up next month.

Incentive in July was 7900 not 8900

I wouldn't be surprised if incentives go up next month. The problem is - as far as I know, there are no more 2018s being shipped to dealers. What's out there is all that is left (as far as I know). Which means the selection is only going to get worse - not better.

If you have your eye on a specific color/trim combo, you might already have to go a long distance to find one.

But the first of the month is only a few days away, too. :)

Good luck on getting the one YOU want! :)

That is correct.

There are, however, currently close to 2400 of them (new 2018's) listed on AutoTrader..

My incentive/rebate in March was 5900. So dealers offer what they want to. I think they were playing a numbers game: they said "We will knock $2900 off MSRP". So they really didn't, if the Kia incentive in March really was 7200, and they only said 5900.

When all the plus and minus game was played out, the final price on the car had to fall inside what I felt was okay to pay. I never went in to make a killing: I wanted the car, period.

I don't understand where this $7,700 rebate for October is coming from. It's been $6,900 for a GT2 here since September, AWD gets the extra 1k.

Its 6900 for RWD gt2 and 7700 for AWD gt2. AWD gets extra 1000 as well.

ohh I see, didn't realize they had two separate rebates

I was hopeful to ink a deal before the end of month, and it just didn't transpire as all of the local dealerships are only willing to budge 8-9% on dealer discount. Working through email with dealerships a few hundred miles away has gotten some slightly better results, but still dodgy about giving out all info over email which doesn't instill confidence in me giving up a day to drive and check it out.

Looks like I'll be hoping incentives get even better for November. From my research there are still a TON of cars out there, many that have been sitting on lots for well over 8 months.

Wait for next year. Financially it makes more sense as you will have a car thats younger plus possible better features and bugs fixed. Your call but i would wait.

I just got a 2018 AWD premium with 2.0t safety package for 10k off MSRP

Was that after incentives? I've got a deal going at $29.5k after incentives ($40.5k msrp), what monthly payments did you get if you don't mind my asking

Making sense financially depends on how long op wants to keep the car. If 10 years then car being one extra one year older won't make difference in selling price. If for 2-3 years then he might loose some money by buying last year model.

Completely agree with more features and less bugs.
