I live in So Cal near LA. Mostly go canyon driving ( almost every Sunday)

Got the Stinger for work as a daily because I needed a/c and reliable transportation since I started doing outside sales last April.
The last track day was raining way too much in the morning made it unsafe to drive my 240 as the tires were hydroplaning on my way to fuel up. Turned around got the Stinger and cus I sure was not going to miss out on a track day or cost I had already paid.

Though the morning was crazy rain in and near LA once I got past the grapevine, there was no more rain the rest of the day. Track itself was dry, grass was very muddy caused issued when people went off track.

I got micro blue 2.0t base mode, no mods and stock wheels/tires.
Other cars I own
85 Supra with a 2jzna-t at 8psi 300whp, canyon driving, dragrace and used to daily.

90 240sx sr20det at 15psi 270whp.
canyon drive and recently (6months ago) started autocross, driving local go kart tracks on time attack days and 1 day at Buttonwillow

Drove to Buttonwillow and back home same day roughly 350miles round trip for the day.

On track
Drove in sport mode and used paddle shifters, did not disable traction control or stability control as there was rain that morning and several turns had mud on track. At least one car per session was going off track and getting towed out did not want to risk that damage.

Power - more than sufficient for my experience level, plenty of fun at the track.

Trans - very responsive minimal delay, didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did coming from mostly stick shift cars having owned a total of 10 cars this would be the 2nd automatic car I own.

Suspension- a bit much body roll, was uneasy about it at first as i am used to the other cars which have coil overs with stiff spring rates and sway bars but once i got comfortable with a certain amount of it, concentrated on smooth transitions I picked up the pace and had more fun.

Steering- felt like it lacked feed back, but then again I'm used to an 85 Supra and 90 240sx which are a bit old and only power steering to help.

Brakes- being the base 2.0 I didn't expect too much as they're not brembo nor very big calipers. Overall was predictable and did good. The bad part was towards the end of each session as I got more into a groove with the car and drove it harder the brakes
Started to shimmy is best I can describe it once I started feeling that I would let them cool for a lap and keep going. Seems they can't handle too much consistant heat/hard application. The last session of the day was my fastest and most noticeable of rotor issue. Rotors are most likely slight warped after this but on the way back home and normal driving nothing noticeable is present.

Tires:
Did well on track predictable through the 20min sessions, would have liked to had better compound tire and see how much more I could push myself and the car. I do have some GT wheels and tires wish I planned for the track day and out
Put those on.

The fastest time I did was 2:46
Honestly slow but not bad considering I did 2:45 with my 240 the first time I went out.

The 240 gives more of an "ohh shit" factor as it's alot of feed back

The stinger was very pleasant to drive a bit too easy and what I felt most limited it was the tires and brakes as mentioned above.

Didn't really get this car to track it but honestly would like to do it again with better tires and maybe some upgrade in brakes/rotors. Being this is a car for work doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

I have also taken it on thru the canyons about 3 times, had some fun doing some "spirited driving". Link of video below trying to keep up with some motorcycles

Highly suggest you take your Stinger and so some canyon driving it handles very well the bigger high speed roads, not so much the tight corners. Locally Angels crest and big tujunga are my favorite with this car ( manual cars I'm top of 3rd gear and 4th uphill), asuza was okay but too much traffic. Also tried Glendora mountain road this was too small for the car, body roll and weight transfer was much for this (my manual cars is alot of 2nd and some 3 Rd gear uphill)

I liked canyon driving the Stinger better than the road course. Road course is too hard on the brakes and the body roll was more noticeable. But I guess because comparing the two the canyon is more of a Cruising situation than the road course.

If anyone local wants to meet up and do some spirited canyon driving let me know usually up there Sunday mornings

Anyone else taken their Stinger on a road course? How did you like it .
Has anyone had issues with the brakes?

My cousin has a gt2 and said he had brake issues after coming down from lake Arrowhead, he machined his rotors as they warped a bit.
