I have a bubble, approximately 2cm x 1 cm in the upper surface of the dashboard leather covering. Its been there since new (vehicle 6 weeks old) on my Stinger Carbon Edition. KIA has agreed to replace "the dashboard". I'm seriously concerned about this replacement being carried out by the local dealership. Perhaps I need to just live with the small bubble - its only a few mm high.

Has anyone had the dashboard replaced ? What was the experience like ? Would you recommend doing the job or living with the minor, visual defect ? All comments welcomed. Thanks, Knightly.

I'd live with it. "Nothing in life has any business being perfect." I have a defect of my own making: trying to repair a rock chip to my front bumper cover near the right headlight; first road trip, "snick!", I heard it and saw it happen. Right down to the black plastic. Well, I tried to touchup paint it away; combo of paint, light wet sanding; repeat; finally used the paint brush touchup, one swipe and called it good. PPF over it. Constant reminder that "this is my flaw". My car is not perfect. And a teensy raised bit of dash wouldn't bother me enough to risk having it pulled and a replacement put in by hacks posing as technicians. Heh! Risking resulting "rattling dash syndrome" for a teensy "bubble"? No way. (But, a pic is worth a thousand words; maybe it looks worse than you say it is.)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I ruined my dashboard with a wrong cleaning product and it was replaced by my dealer. They scratched the center console and replaced it after I was complaining about. Looks like new now. No rattles, nothing.
Only annoying thing is: They used some grease somewhere and I have to clean now and then the area around my screen but this will go away over time.

What on Earth could you have put on your dash to ruin it?

Good question - after they replaced the old one I took the old one with me and tried to ruin the last intact areas without any success...maybe it was a combination of cleaners and heat from the sun which made it like a mirror :(
