Hey y’all.

I broke my side mirror when replacing the caps like a deedeedee. when it popped out, it popped out the inner cap where the little motor wheels are. I know kia can fix this and they can order the part and all that. What I want to know is this; if I go to kia and they fix it, does that go on your service history? Will they give me shit for having mods? I dont have any engine mods just a bunch of exterior mods. I dont want to go there and have minor damage reported on my history report or anything like that. I’d rather buy the part and take it somewhere else. What do you guys think? Heres a pic of the inside that I broke. I broke the housing to it none of the actually innards.

Damage history is structural not cosmetic; that's what I've heard always. Kia won't give you grief over cosmetic mods. Hope that you can get it fixed for a reasonable cost, that's the danger: some dealerships will charge that last possible dollar to replace stuff.

It'll be on your service history but worst they can do is not warranty any other repairs to that mirror. If you're in the states look at magnuson-moss warranty act. They gotta prove the mods broke something before they wont warranty. eg. Your engine blowing up has nothing to do with broken plastic in the mirror housing, so they can't blame it on that.
