This just happened on my way home. I don't know what this dumb woman was doing, there was no one in front of me so she clearly didn't even look and just went. Luckily my wife, me, and my Stinger can keep cruising.

(LANGUAGE WARNING)

The wife was on the phone with her mom and used some colorful language when I slammed on the brakes to avoid this.

first of all, im glad you guys are ok and you didnt wreck, but...dude, nice one!! what kind of dash cam you have? ive only caught a couple good ones so far; one was a van that swerved lanes right into a police cruiser! all you can hear on the cam audio is me "YES! YES! I GOT MY FIRST ONE!" -i love watching crazy dash cam videos.

Thanks. It's a Toguard, I think it's just a generic Chinese brand but it does the job. It's got a forward and rear-facing camera.

How do you save the dash cam videos to a smaller file size without reducing quality?
What is the limit for these posts?

"They" say that most accidents occur within a mile of home. Certainly was almost true in your case. Hah! Glad you were on top of that one.

lol, That's pretty much a normal occurrence driving in Sydney......

And if you want to see lots of it, and hear HEAPS more swearing, just get on YouTube and search "Dash Cams Australia" or "Bad Driving Australia".

Anyway, just glad you ended up impact free and got to experience the power of BREMBO's !

I couldn't be bothered with all that honestly so I just posted it to youtube and left it unlisted so it would only show up on here.

Most drivers turning left in front of bikes claim they never saw the bike. How does one miss a car. Person probably on their phone (handsfree), looking but not seeing.

Glad to see (and hear) that you avoided any contact! Your Wife sounds like mine and would probably still be cussing at that Woman (I wouldn't be too Happy either)!

I agree that your dash cam does a good job because you can see all kinds of good detail in case something ever does happen (I Hope that you Never need it though).

In answering your question JSolo, it's hard for some people to see the road and traffic when they drive with their heads up their butts! I've found that quite a few people are in such a hurry or just self absorbed and don't care, that things like this happen much too often and then the person who caused the accident is surprised when it happens to them or gets angry that you hit them!

Beautiful quote.

Although Stinger is mostly my daily. I still avoid taking it for little things such as getting coffee or little tiny errands. Not worth it to me imo.

We have a yield sign for cross traffic half a block from the house. Those that live in the neighborhood treat it as a 4 way stop. Few years ago, I had the right of way, but some car blew through the intersection at 30mph +. So much for right of way.

Talk about accident happening close to home!

I just take the "longer route" to my tiny errand: long enough to completely warm up the drivetrain. Very few exceptions to this: I hate short hops on principle, and in this car it is anathema. Of course, once you've done this once in a day, any subsequent drives warm everything up very quickly: this car does not cool down fast.

I always slow down when appraoching intersections even if it's green with right of passage.
Way too many idiots like that on the roads.

But yeah I've noticed all Kia's have very nice brakes and pedal modulation.

Haha yes! I'm always amazed at the Americans & Canadians who complain. Yet the majority of their roads are well designed with multiple wide lanes and good straights set in grid patterns.

In comparison to Australia (Sydney mainly) with narrow, squiggly and totally illogical roads.

You want to check the roads outside of Sydney, i moved to a regional centre 8 weeks ago and the roads have to be seen to be believed they are absolute goat tracks. The wife's got the Stinger and went the 370 km to Sydney, we discussed the 11km of track to the Pacific hwy she was really nervous of hitting a pothole. When we're in the small town i drive 100% of the time.
