So I got my first Stinger ticket today :-(

Imgur

Was “testing” my launch control. There may or may not have been a Tesla next to me at the light.

There definitly was a cop nearby ‍♂️

Tesla's are one of the cars that can spank a GT , so save your effort !

Ya. Tesla, especially with the "D" (for dual Drive). You're going to lose!

oh, hello officer.....i was speeding? really? i seem to have backed up into a bungee cord that snapped my car forward at great velocity......i would never knowingly speed. that tesla had no brakes and i was catching up to get in front of him so i could help him slow down. it was locusts. a flood. it wasn't my fault.....(what movie reference is that from?)

Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over?

Stinger Driver:
Because I didn't see you.

officer: do you know how fast you were going?
stinger driver: obviously not fast enough

My GF is a very good driver but her Sequoia thankfully keeps her out of "go to jail" territory.

Then she bought a CLS400 (similar performance and handling as Stinger) and after the first ride down a local 35 at close to 60, I did some research and spent a good amount of time gently explaining what might happen if she was caught.

THE NEXT MORNING she got nailed for 62 in a 45..

LC: Kia TELLS us all to not do this on the public roads, only in "legal" places. Yeah, like that is going to happen. So much civil disobedience. At least I waited until there were no cars in sight on an empty highway. Literally, no vehicles at all, in the middle of the day. When I was through playing around (which included being at over two and a half times the speed limit), I discovered the reason why no other drivers: up ahead there was a roadblock that held back traffic for over five minutes at a stretch. The highway was lightly traveled in the first place; add in the roadblock/traffic stop, and voila!, perfect playground conditions; if you notice immediately, which I did. So far, only two warnings and no tickets. Yeah, I know, even double the speed limit can land you in jail, so I am told repeatedly by my wife!
