Driver passed out due to medical condition and ran into bridge barrier that saved his life.
Without the barrier, he would of launched off the bridge onto the interstate. Driver was injured but alive.

Ouch, rough one. Kinda humbling circumstances there, you could be the best driver on the road, but have an undiagnosed medical condition that puts you under for 5 seconds, and all of that is worthless. I saw a lady pass out, lose control, run across 3 lanes of traffic, through a fenced front yard, across another 2 lanes of traffic, and hit a tree in front of an Olive Garden. When I got to her, she didn't know where she was, why she was driving, or even that she had been in an accident. Scary stuff!

It is very scary. I had a stroke last year shortly after running some errands with my wife and doing all the driving. Came out of nowhere, thank God i wasn't still driving at the time, but home in my recliner. It could have been way worse.
