Car was sitting in garage for 2 weeks, when I went to start the car, stepping on the brake pedal was so high and hard that when I pushed the start button it would not crank.
This is the 2nd time its happened.
after a few pumps on the pedal and being afraid I would have to have it towed it went down and the car started
Anyone else have this happen?

Have it checked immediately. Sounds like your vacuum booster is not holding vacuum or you have a restriction in the master cylinder bore.

I just left Kia service, they said that its because there is to much pressure from my fuel pump?.
They kept my car and gave me a loaner and said they have to get in touch with corporate on Monday.
In any event thank you for telling me to take it to Kia right away.

What kind of loaner did they give you?

Please update when you hear back from the dealer. I have noticed my brake pedal being hard a couple of times but thought it was just my kid sitting in the drivers seat and stepped on the brake pedal. I haven't had it happen where the vehicle wouldn't start but have noticed the pedal thing.

I’ve been searching for a thread that some what mimics what has happened to me over the last two days. Got in the car yesterday, with my key and tried to push pedal as I pushed start. Pedal had no give in it whatsoever. Car immediately went to accessory mode. Got out and traded my keys for wife’s, voila, pedal resisted but went down and car started. No problems rest of day.

This morning I got in car with wife’s key, same scenario. Went in and traded keys back, hard brake pump, and car started.

Anyone have a clue what’s going on?

As an aside, I did have tires rotated and aligned last week.

I'm willing to bet the key switching is purely coincidental to the car starting. If your brake pedal isn't going in easily then you should take it in for servicing because that's definitely abnormal behavior.

Yep that's not normal at all. Brake booster issue.

Did the OP find out what was wrong. My 2019 Stinger has done the exact same thing twice in the last 10 days.

mine has had a firm brake pedal a couple times, like it was pumped a couple times before I went to start it. always able to put enough pressure on it to get it to start though. 2019 also, hmm. interested to see what dealer said as well. I would think it's brake related, not fuel pump related though, right?

Thats an odd one. Meanwhile i can just prush againt the pedal and start the car. . . I hope its diagnosed properly

I figured this happened to all cars lol. I currently have a 2007 Altima (hopefully being replaced by a Stinger when the refresh comes out). But my car does this all the time when it sits longer than about 3 days. And with COVID19 and working from home, I go 3-4 days at least once a month now. And every time the brake petal is hard. Go on vacation for a week and come back and the break pedal is hard. I just assumed this was normal on all cars? Now, my car has started first push every time though......

that's a good point. I also work at home so often go three or four days with no driving. I'm probably over thinking my situation.
