My other thread discussion on buying one: Looking at a 2019 Stinger GT2 3.3T AWD - Pricing?

Went to a dealer that told me on the phone they didn't have one in stock, but probably be able to trade a car in their inventory for the color combo I wanted. They are about 25 miles from my house and they advertised online $8,600 off msrp.
Well, I guess they would have given that but the really low-balled me on my 2018 Genesis G80 Sport.
Then they told me they wouldn't be able to trade for the one I want anyway...
So, on to the dealer who had my car in stock. I know the finance mgr. at this Kia dealer, and negotiated the sale with him and another salesman. They were giving me the loyalty (or whatever they call it), plus $2k for taking a loan. I told them I didn't want to pay that much ($10,250 + my 2018 G80 with less than 4k miles). He showed me the numbers, including their holdback etc. and told me I would be getting it at their cost (I believe him because I've known him for a number of years).
Then a sales mgr. passes by and he asks him to come in and see what he could do. He brought the price down to $9,900 (a drop of about $350) and reached out to shake my hand, and we shook.
We had a deal. After signing a lot of paperwork, I asked my buddy if he could tint the windows for me, and he said yes, we'll do it while you wait (he didn't charge me for it). It took a while, but I was happy to have it done, especially for no charge.

Check out some pics I took of the car in my garage.
I don't know if these all now come with the fancy badging instead of KIA all over, but all those in stock had the same badging as mine.... just like many of you do to customize your rides.
Mine is already done!!! I was really happy having that already done to my liking.

Welcome to our stingerforum @Mr. Wonderful , and Congrats on the purchase of your Stinger, nice exterior colour choice with the red Nappa Leather, I am assuming the dealership has taken it upon themselves to re-badge a few Stingers, which I have not heard of before, unless the customer asked for it to be done.

I asked the salesman that helped me, and he seemed to think they came this way,
but he wasn't sure. I do know each one had the replacements on them.... SWEET.
I had already made a list of badges I was going to order, and now don't have to.

How is the stinger in comparison to the G80 sport? That's a beautiful machine as well. I know they are different beasts but I'm curious why you made the switch.

Congratulations on the new car. You've made the great choice of colours

Curious about the badges. I wonder if this was Korean stock somehow?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Welcome to the forum!

Is that a C7 next to the Stinger?

Good eyes!!! I tried not to get it into the pic, and when I saw the little area there,
I wondered if anyone would notice. I've owned about 20 Vettes over the years.
Here's a few pics of this one (2016 conv. with Spice Red package).

From a Stingray to the Stinger, definitely an upgrade in reliability. Different animals but both of them awesome cars!

I've only driven the Stinger about 20 miles, so can't judge ride quality, but does feel firmer.
They both have the same engine.
G80 was quite a bit roomier inside the cabin, and seats were more comfortable (more padding)
so kinder on my rear end. Why did I trade it? When I visited the Hyundai dealer for a warranty
repair, I also had the car detailed. While sitting and waiting for it to be completed, the sales mgr.
who knows me (I've bought 4 cars from them) taps me on the shoulder and says "why don't
you take a new G70 out for a test drive"? He's done this before, once when I was in for an oil
change. Well, I liked the feel of the car when I drove it, and felt I really did not need the extra
size of the G80, and loose around 500 lbs. I got a price from him, but I thought it was not
a really good deal. Which got me looking into the Stinger. After much reading, and joining this
great forum, I got enough information to be dangerous (as they say). So went Kia hunting,
winding up at a local dealer where I know the finance mgr. After MUCH negotiation, we finally
agreed on a price I could live with. They even tinted my windows while I waited.
Reason for buying a Stinger over a G70... the G70 is in my eyes a shrunken-down G80. Front
grille is very similar looking and I'm not in love with that design. I wanted something different.
Plus cost: I was quoted $10k plus my G80 for a G70 Sport rwd.
I wound up getting a Stinger AWD which listed for $3k more than
the G70 Sport rwd ($51k vs $54k) for the same $10k plus my car, so I went for it.
I also like the fact that it has a hatch. I think I prefer it to a trunk.

Still have the Stingray... I traded my G80 for the Stinger, so now I have a Stinger AND a Stingray.

So nothing really negative to say about the G80, you just wanted something with more sporting characteristics. I can understand that. I go back and forth sometimes when I see G80 sports for the same price as GT2 on the used market. I'm a big guy (6-1, 240) so something like a g70 is just too small for me. Ty for the response and love the color scheme of that Vette.

I know right? A Stinger or G70 is not worth $10k + G80 (with 4000miles) unless there's damage involved...

Stingray, Stinger. Lol. And with special badging, unless these are going to become more common.

Great choices of cars man. Nice
The true tell (...for the re-badging) might be the one still staring you in the face on the steering wheel?
