A lot of us on the Forum have wondered if the Buick Regal GS might be an alternative to the Stinger. Although neither of these reviewed models is exactly what we'll be getting in the U.S., I thought it worth posting these reviews just to compare how the same reviewer responds to each.

Stinger:
Yet another slam at the rear visability, but he does seem to enjoy driving it, despite it's not being a German luxury car.

Insignia:
The suspension sounds like every Buick I've ever known. Note that it's a diesel.

Not a fair comparison since the equivalent of the Buick regal gs will be the open insignia gsi, v6 different suspension and so on.

The interior of that car is hideous

Will be interesting to see how the Regal GS actually turns out. Buick decided to not go as hardcore with the handling setup as the Insignia GSi and Commodore VXR. Those versions get 20" wheels and a 10mm lower suspension. The GS maintains the same ride height as the base model and gets 19" wheels. Though it should have a more sporty setup and several drive modes. During the GS reveal they mentioned that GS was tuned more towards being a sporty daily driver.

I am interested in both cars. When I see the gs in any color other than red, I like the looks although it needs a slightly larger rear spoiler. When I see the stinger I love it every time, although the fake hood vents and the black chrome may be getting old for me already and I worry I may start to dislike.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
That's another feature the GSi and VXR get - a larger spoiler. Also for whatever reason, they get a rear brake caliper painted red to match the front.

Cant say I like the Buick at all. Looks like the Ford Taurus and Honda Civic had a baby. Side panel styling is somewhat dated, cheaper looking version of the Audis or Infiniti Q50. Absolutely no flair to the headlights.

I'll just add on here Bob Flavin's most recent review of the "tree point tree." He still loves it.
