BMW and Audi Have A New Challenger And You Won’t Believe Where It Comes From

I can't imagine an SS ruling an autocross course. I'm used to such tight cone courses in parking lots that they always get won by the guys with gutted lightweight CRX's that have one wheel off the ground half the time.

Cylinder deactivation is really only helping much when cruising on the highway, but the C7 Corvette is rated 29mpg hwy and one guy for Popular Mechanics testing hypermiling at 55mph with no air conditioning got 37.3mpg. The SS definitely could have benefited from it for the highway mpg.

HAHAHA! I think the driver of the SS is one of 3 CRXs that usually run but this day, he took his SS on the track after everyone had their official timed runs. And you describing that they have one wheel off the ground half the time... that is so true but damn they could hug those turns.

I haven't been to my local autocross this year, since the city is re-purposing the empty parking lot they used and since the only guy I personally knew that ran, is now in Italy. I might have to start going again, I do sorta miss watching them. I'm a damn good city driver and I can weave through any local traffic better than anyone. I sadly discovered I SUCK at autocross, having to stay inside this cone or outside that cone.... LOL

The ChiPS movie ('17) uses a Chevy SS as the robbery getaway car in the opening chase sequence. Pretty sweet. (Rest of movie ranges from mediocre to bad.)
