I have 2 stingers, one withe lap3 (only had the car for 2k miles blown both engine with only 1k) & other with jb4 module (has been installed for 40k no issues). I have blown the engine 2x in the lap3 stinger by breaking the rings in number 6 piston. At this point I just dont know if its worth keeping the lap3 unit as its cost me 14k in repairs. Im building the new engine to install again and open to comments and what I can do to keep from breaking the rings & piston in number 6 as they were both stock engines with tuner installed.

Wait, "stock engines" can't have anything on them, so that sentence doesn't make sense. They're no longer stock. That is either an incredible bad run of luck, or you beat the pizz out of your stuff.

He's just referring to the fact that the engine internals are all factory. That is crappy luck but I'd turf the Lap3 at this point for sure...

I would be wondering if the wear in the number 6 cylinder is contributing to this, if the rings failed twice there has to be some serious scouring going on in there....if the bore isnt smooth and crosshatched properly you will bind the rings and that will cause them to break. Sounds like an overbore or re-sleeve situation in the very least. And ya I would drop the lap3 as well, you might have it running to high a map.

Did you also have a jb4 on the lap3 car to check logs? I'm curious to see if there were issues there or if it blew while showing clean data.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
