Hi!

Im going to be honest, I’m new to cars, I’ve helped out doing bits and bobs with my dad, I bought a stinger because, well it’s a beast for a great price.
I want to learn and do things myself, to install the blow off valve the directions seem pretty straight forward, does anyone have one that could just say yes it is or might need a helping hand from a shop.
I know absolutely zero people in the auto industry so I’m a bit of a loss.
Thanks,

joe

Hi. What are you trying to accomplish with the BOV?

if you simply want to hear the woosh/pssshh sounds, get a replacement intake.
You’d be amazed how loud the stock recirc valves are (dumping into the intakes) when not using the stock sealed airbox.

some BOVs seem finicky to setup.

My AEM CAI makes the same noise a BOV does.

I agree with the rest of the guys that if you haven't already bought the BOV just get intakes. You will get the sound you want from the intake and you'll actually get some gains from it versus the BOV.

Brilliant, I’ll look into those. Thanks!!!
No problem. If you want the easiest to install intakes look at the BMS kit, if you dont mind the extra effort for install I'd say the AEM kit is probably one of the best values.

I would get the intakes over BOV. I heard some nightmares of BOV bad user installs that could even lead to drivetrain issues from overboost conditions.

Can confirm plenty of intake and blowoff noise with the AEM intakes and stock BOVs. I haven't had a chance to install my ADD W1 kit. Been a crazy year.

Just got my K n N intakes today. Question has anyone disconnected their battery yet? Does it erase all stored data? Do you need radio code to restart the radio again?

You shouldn't have to disconnect the battery just to install an intake. I have the K&N in my car and didn't have to disconnect the battery during my install. If you do take out the battery, I would assume you lose all your preset settings on your radio, but not sure about any other settings like the interior mood lighting and such.
