The dealership insisted it was just water spots and they’d come off after a wash, but that does not seem to be the case. I’ve washed it multiple times, tried black trim restorer, dish soap and water, vinegar, WD-40…nothing fixes it. I’d go back to the dealership and demand they fix it, but it’s hours away and I’d like to not deal with them if I don’t have to.

Has anyone else encountered this and have any idea how to fix it?

You might be able to try and use a light amount of paint or lacquer thinner to remove the spots. Then go over it with a trim restorer that is high quality, like solution finish.

When you say, "all over", do you mean that spots are on all the weather seals? Or just on that one? Because you can replace these. If it's "all over" just one piece that is a practical move.

Meanwhile, PlastX by Meguiar's could be the right tool for the wrong job (it's dedicated clear plastic cleaner): I would try it if spots were on anything "plasticky", which I consider rubber to be in that family of surfaces: anyway, it can't hurt. Isopropyl alcohol? Ammonia? (Careful there with the fumes.) If you are dealing with one piece, it's possible that it is a defect and not contamination. Also, call that dealer and rehearse your saga: they can't continue to insist that washing will take the spots out: and under warranty, such defective surfaces are replaced; just push.

Don’t screw around with homemade fixes that may cause additional issues…get the trim replaced under warranty.
