So I have the Sunset Yellow paint, and I know how good black wheels look on a yellow car, as I have sported it before. Thing is, I think the anatracite/silver wheels look good, and I am not 100% sold on altering them. This would be a professional paint job, not a set of new wheels. I was wondering on what the consensus would be toward such a decision.

The OE wheels look great powder coated black. It’s all personal preference. I went black and red with my car because that is what I wanted to do. If I had a sunset yellow I’d do black as well. Our wheels are 34 lbs, so you could get something like the TSW Bathurst in a gunmetal gray and shave a solid 10-12 lbs off per wheel. I think the Bathurst would look great and I think they run about $250 per wheel.
I actually have the dip in my closet. Two brand new cans. Never had the guts to use them, as I have observed getting it off of wheels is a nightmare- regardless of how many layers.
This is actually a great idea. I did this with my previous car. Just make sure you use something like a garbage bag to cover your brakes and rotors. Check out dipyourcar.com for some good video tutorials.

I did my wheels with PD and glossified them , I decided i didnt like the gloss and peeled it of , took 15 min per wheel ( 4coats of PD and 2 Gloss ) then re applied 4 coatd of PD , looks great after 8 months

When you peeled it off, was it difficult? Do you have any pics of what it looks like now?
