Hello does anyone have a black stinger that can look at the trim on both sides of the hatch to see if it is black like the rest of the cars trim? I think my car was not done on accident, and I am trying to find out if it suppose to be black trim like the rest of the car. I'm sure it suppose to be but I can't get my dealership to give me an answer. Check out my picture. IMG_6871.webp

It's not supposed to match your paint. It's meant to be the same black chrome as on the vents on the side of the car. I have the same color trim on my HCR.

Oh I would of thought it would match the rest of the back trim. It looks out of place in my opinion on a black stinger. Thanks for the reply.

The strip (in black chrome) on mine runs over both doors and into rear window. I agree with OP it looks wrong. Did you buy used and maybe previous owner has "blacked" out the doors strips?

Are you sure that the black shipping tape on the trim over the doors was removed? I discovered the black tape over my front passenger door nearly a month after getting my car. :D In the pic it looks like shipping tape over that rear passenger door. The dark chrome running alongside the hatch window looks correct.

Mine most definitely does not do this. The black chrome trim on my hatch runs up to the rubber seals on my doors, which are a completely different color.

I had the same issue. There was a black film over the chrome above the other windows that comes right off with no effort. Not sure if it was there for looks or factory protection, but I peeled mine off (no effort - was barely stuck on) and it matches the trim along the hatch.

Well crap . . . if it weren't 20* out with 5" of snow I'd go out now and take a look! :D

I purchased my stinger new. It's a 2021. That trim looks best in black on the black color car in my opinion. I may try to get someone put something over it one day.

Mine is also a 2021. Sounds like we both have black shipping tape on the trip atop the doors.

I think you still might have the black plastic film that protects the chrome strip when installed at the factory, attached.
Peel it off and then it will match.

I noticed the same thing on my Stinger when I first got it.
The dealer forgot to remove it during the PDI.

I actually hate that black chrome trim piece, never even noticed it until I bought my Stinger. Would be a much cleaner look in body color imo. I honestly feel like if they wanted to go with that black chrome, why not do it right? Do the regular chrome Stinger script and the gt/awd badges on the back in black chrome. Even the KIA on the nose in black chrome instead of grey. At least it would all match instead of black chrome and regular chrome.

I think I will just leave the black film until it starts to come off. I personally like the black out look. Anyway I appreciate all the comments. Everyone have a great day.

At least one of the vendors sells vinyl overlays to black out the black chrome if you want the backed out look. It probably looks better than the black shipping protective film.

Thanks. More than likely that is what I plan to do is get a vinyl company to black out the entire strip.
