was following wife in our GT2 when she dropped the hammer....black/brown smoke was fairly heavy for a couple seconds, maybe 3-4 before it cleaned up and could not be seen. Do these cars run that rich when you jump on the throttle? Second time she did it there was less smoke but still visible for 1-2 seconds. wife has a heavy foot, that’s why she wanted it lol.

You do see some smoke from the tailpipe when WOT, I think even more so when tuned. These engines do run rich, 11:1, even 10:1 sometimes.

I figure on the lockdown there’s an ideal opportunity to go pig rich, but also maybe blowing out buildup in the system as well. It a Concern due to the color, but I was surprised to see it go that rich

It's fairly common with Direct Injection motors. They run rich for safety reasons and the carbon builds up if you don't get on it often. If you ever participate in a track day, you can blow it all out but it'll eventually come back if you're just daily driving it.

I never noticed with the Stinger but in my two prior direct injection cars, they would spit out very black smoke when cold starting when it was really cold in the winter, super rich trying to warm the cats up.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
What you describe sounds like unburnt fuel which is what essentially has been stated in the above posts.

Totally normal. Trust me you don't want the inverse problem lol
