My husband had an encounter with a Black Jeep Cherokee. Not sure what model but it pulled up next to him and floored it. He floored the Stinger GT2 and stayed with it and may have overcome it if more road was available. He said "I Though your Stinger would have done better"! What is this jeep and has anyone encountered one?

Probably an SRT with the 6.4L hemi 475 HP... the Trackhawk would have left you behind.

There is a V8 powered Jeep that is very quick. It's called a TrackHawk with a 6.2L Supercharged hemi, 707HP. If the Stinger stayed with that beast, you can be proud. Pretty stupid putting that kind of power in a vehicle that handles like a truck.

You're probably right. A Trackhawk packs 350 hp MORE than a Stinger. That's plenty to overcome the extra 1300 lbs. It also runs 11s in the quarter--way faster than a stock Stinger.

SRT is a good guess and a pretty good matchup for the Stinger in a drag race.

Probably just SRT. Big hemi and lots of grip. Track hawk would have left him in dust.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Given the coefficient of drag and frontal area of the Jeep vs. Stinger, there is only about a 60 horsepower difference at 120mph. This means that if he has 60 more horsepower than you on paper, he will still be out accelerating you at 120mph. Keep in mind that this is a less than perfect analysis tool that doesn't consider things like gearing, traction, wind, frictional losses, etc. Just a calculation based on velocity, frontal area, and coefficient of drag.

Ya 6.4 Id imagine. The 5.7 woulda lost bad, and the 6.2 woulda crushed the kia. From a roll I would expect the Kia to start walking, but from a dig the ol 6.4 will prob. win due to the stupid launch nannies in the Kia.
