I don't want to use the scissor jack. Any suggestions?

I used the jack points along the door frame. There are two positions on each side of the car, located in front of the front door, and just behind the rear door) with a floor jack when doing work under mine. They seemed to hold up fine using a floor jack (I'm also not a fan of scissor jacks), but if you wanted to be extra careful since its a folded edge jack point you could use a piece of rubber between the jack and frame.

Is there a center position to have up the car? I couldn't find it in the manual. For longer jobs i want to put the car on jackstands but the jack point can't accommodate the lift and stand...

Thank you. Iam very squeamish about jacking on the unibody, but there are also plastic panels probably covering crossmember points under the motor and trans. I'll figure it out.

I can tell you that with a wide pad low profile jack, from the front jack point, I had almost both wheels of one side off the ground without seeing much of anything going on with the metal around the jack point (know what you mean on the unibody, as the Optima didn't fare as well). Was doing this when installing puddle lights, and thought I wouldn't get away with doing the front and back light on each side without moving the jack, but I did.

The pinch welds actually run the length of the car so you can jack the car up just behind the cut outs and put the jack stand in.

I just moved the jack down from the jack point and used the grooved rubber adapters to leave enough room at the actual ‘jack point’ for stands. Nothing damaged and I feel much more comfortable doing a full brake job on stands and not a hydraulic jack. Cheers.
