Best All season tires?

Hey everyone just wanted to see what everyone’s been running for all season tires. I currently am running Bridgestone potenzas. They are pretty good over all but I am in dire need of new tries so what would be some of your recommendations ?

I have limited experience, because I really like the first A/S I tried for winter driving with the Stinger. Nitto Motivo UHP A/S "Y" speed rating. I really, really like the "Y". It seems like overkill for an A/S. I don't know of another A/S that has that high a speed rating. They also have a 60,000 miles treadlife warranty. Who beats that? They grip really well in the dry and wet. Of course, during winter, you never test that out. I drive gingerly, so much so, that have even driven on PS4S in freezing temperatures in the teens and not lost grip. I don't push grip in freezing conditions even if the road is dry. I drive the Nitto Motivo tires the same way. I like them so well, in fact, that when my front PS4S are shot - probably by the end of the year - I will replace them with the Nitto Motivo, and, if it's not too stupid, replace the rear PS4S later with the same. Or, if it is too stupid to run A/S on the front and PS4S on the back, I'll just accept the loss of half the tread on the PS4S and get Nitto Motivo all around.

to clarify, I do not plan on running on PS4S through the winter! I mean, that come next spring, I'd replace my PS4S with the Motivo in front and finish off the rear PS4S next summer and replace them with the Motivo then, and going forward stick with the Motivo year-round. They're less expensive than Michelin too.

more editing, to explain that I already have a full set of Motivos on the OEM GT wheels, with one winter on them, so, almost brand new. The Bridgestone Potenza on the Premium are six years old this fall, or at least one pair is that old, the previous driver may have replaced one pair of tires because the tread wear is less in the rear than in front. I may just put the GT wheels back on the Premium - I ran them the first winter we had the car, last year, and really like the look. And if I do that, being cautious not to run tires that are too old, even though they still have tread, I'll have to ditch the half-worn PS4S rears on my GT1 and get new Motivos all around. That's probably what I'll end up doing. Then I'll have virtually brand New Motivos on both cars going into next winter and all the seasons after that.

Pirelli’s, Continental and Michelin are my go to for A/S tires. Michelins on the rear do get shredded pretty fast though.

I’ve experienced two very pre-mature flats with Continental A/S.

Pirelli’s have been flawless everytime I get them. They are pricey tho.

Kumho PA51 on mine. Or PA71.

Would buy the 51s over and over again.

I’m currently running Michelin X Ice plus Snow on my Stinger in Canada. I’ve previously had Pirelli Sotozero 240’s on a Firebird and Corvette. Both brands worked really well. The one thing I noticed with the Pirelli’s is that they got hard and slippery when the temperature dipped below -27 deg C.

This summer swapped out my stock PS4S's for Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus all seasons.

So far no complaints and they handle well enough for how hard I push her on public roads, but it's summer and I've only had very light rain to test them in--and temperatures no colder than about 55F.

They did come highly recommended, so there's that.

for a/s i used to be 100% michelin pilot sport all season 4 crowd, after reading/watching reviews tried the newer continental extremecontact dws06 Plus on our z4 and loved them so much i moved to those on the stinger.. pretty much identical grip/performance as the michelins in each type of weather ( seems to do tiny bit better in snow/wet)while subjectively to us a tiny bit quieter and definitely wearing better as well.. not to mention it was a few bucks cheaper.

I've been running the Continentals for over a year and I drive my car hard they really grip the road wet or dry, and have good tread life I run them about 38 lbs daily for hard cornering, I am staggered and the car seems to really like that set up

Had those on my pervious Stinger, loved them! When I need new ones on my new Stinger, I shall go with the same as well.

Changed Michelin summer to A/S. So far so good.

I've got a few years to go yet (3-4), but debating 2 things;

a) size

1) 245/40/18 (current)
2) 245/45/18 (alt)​

1) Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 (5?) (current)​

2) Continental DW06+​

As this is a awd car, arrangement will be square. I realize there will be a speedo error with the larger (a2) size. However error is expected to be minimum as there is currently an error of speed showing faster than actual (when compared to gps).

My main concern is handling and traction. Just how much softer/less responsive does 1/2" in tire radius make.....? Either of the above sizes fit a 18x8.0" stock wheel.

Sidewall thickness will also affect handling, just FYI. An extra 1/2" sidewall radius will feel less responsive in fast cornering, but I took that trade for the improved ride comfort.

Less sidewall is great for the track, but I don't drive 8/10ths on the street so I don't miss it.

I went from the stock 225/40r19 + 255/35r19 PS4 to 235/45r18 AS4 square. 26.1" vs 26.3" OD, only out by 1mph at 100, and the extra sidewall is way more forgiving over bumps.

Based on my specs, my difference will be ~1" 26.7 vs 25.9". Car handles exceptionally well now for what it is. Would be even better with after market sways but not something I want to deal with.

The first thing I asked the dealership for, on recommendation of these forums, and the first thing I'd suggest . They had to order them in, so I drove stock for a few months, but as soon as they were installed it was night and day. So planted controlled in the bends. Just gotta remember what you have in the trunk before whipping it round.

I have not had to change tires yet, but when i do, i will be going to the Conti extreme contact dws06+. I have had the previous version, the dws06, on 2 previous vehicles and they are superb for the price point. And from previous car circles, a top pick for A/S tires.

My 2019 Stinger GT1 is RWD. I don't do any aggressive driving just around town and 50 miles round trip to work. The stock Mich Pilots wore out after about 21,650 miles. Those tires started to crack and the tread life was not good at all. They did handle well on dry and wet but poorly in light snow (as expected). I did a lot of research before switching to Conti Extreme Contact dws06 Sport Plus. Went to Discount Tires for a rotation and balance. Fronts are good but rears are at the final limit. Currently have 39,200 on the odo. So, I only got about 17,940 miles out of the 50K Contis (rear). That's not good for me, as I am expecting at least 25K from the rears. Although the DSW's performed well I am thinking of trying the Conti Control Contact Sport SRS+. They are comparable to the DSW's. Does anyone on this forum have any knowledge on the Conti Control Contact Sport SRS+? Please let me know soon. Thanks.

Consider General G-Max AS-07's. UHP All-Season tire that has been excellent for me. Tread seems to be lasting quite well. Reduced noise from the Conti DWS-06+ they replaced. Did not get much snow last year to test AWD traction. Good in wet and dry.
