I hope i started this thread in the right place, but i thought it would be nice too find out more about each other, like what else your interested in.

I worked for GM HOLDEN LTD for 12 years, working in their foundry and then about 10 and a half years, in the HFV6 assembly plant, which built the Holden Commodore engines, in November 2016 the plant shut down and i lost my job.
The only reason i found employment at Holden was my passion of all cars, i also like Corvette, Cadillac CTS-V, Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats, i have always liked the 1980's Pontiac Trans Am and Camaro, past and current Shelby GT500 and SuperSnake, what beasts, and so much more like Lamborghini's.
I like to watch many movies and US tv shows, i like History Channel, American Experience episodes, embarassed to say but Hallmark Channel, Spike Tv which airs COPS and A&E channel which airs Live Pd, my favourite and i like to watch US police pursuits on youtube, and too much more to mention.

Hope i am not the only forum member willing too share a little bit more about themselves ....haha

Yup, you're in the right place! The lounge... Okay, a little bit about me. Most of my full-time career happened at an American Express owned travel company where I pretty much learned to become a webmaster, build websites, and ultimately became a social media marketer. I worked with the company about 15 years before my position, web architect, was dissolved after new owners made lots of changes. Nowadays, my full-time career is called Strategic Conceptual Business Development and I help companies either get online, get social, or get found in search engines.

What do I like? Well, cars have always been a big part of my life. Ever since my Father bought a 1980 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz in 1985 - I was kind of obsessed with cars. It was an extremely comfortable car and in 1985 it still looked brand new because the style hadn't yet changed. It turned heads everywhere we went - and I noticed this. Ever since then I've had luxury cars in my blood - but before I could afford them - my second favorite, sports cars (really, pony cars) came into view after a close friend of mine bought a 1982 Camaro Z28. Again, I saw how people looked at that car (and those like it) - and bought a whole bunch of 'em (used) over the years. Nowadays I prefer luxury over sport because I can use luxury amenities 100% of the time without having to worry about breaking the law. :p

I don't have much spare time these days. Between work (8 hours per day) and now here (8 hours per day) - I'm pretty much at my computer almost all my waking hours. I do my best to get to the gym 5 days each week first thing in the morning after coming here and responding to conversations, helping members with account issues, etcetera - and then sit down on the couch with my wife to watch an old episode of the Sopranos. :p She's never seen it before and I'm enjoying going through all the seasons again...

For fun? Well, that typically happens on Friday and Saturday and it's usually my wife and I heading downtown to a place we call "City Place" in West Palm Beach - or Clematis Street (nearby) with all restaurants and bars - and do happy hour. That's what life comes to at 46. :p

Hi Kia Stinger,
Thanx for sharing, amazing how you have the time and stamina to do all that everyday, much appreciated and impressed how you respond and welcome all current and new members, and how you maintain and edit the forum, i am sure that all members appreciate your efforts here on Stinger forum everyday.
You mentioned how much you like the 1982 Camaro Z28, did you see the video on youtube about a person who found a brand new Camaro Z28 stored in a truck trailer for like 20 years, never driven and still with all factory plastic over the seats and steering wheel and factory labels on the side windows, unbelievable find.

Thank you for the kind words. I do what I do because I love to. :) This is my hobby and I love it. :) As for that Camaro found on a trailer - I'd never heard about it! But I just YouTubed it - and wow - it's quite nice. 1985 Iroc-Z. I know that guy isn't going to drive it - but I would. I'd l wouldn't let it sit somewhere in a garage. I'd enjoy it every day. If all I wanted to do was look at it - I'd take a picture. :p

Hum, I might as well share a bit about myself here to keep the threat going.

I am a university professor - and somehow I experienced weird reactions from Korean car dealers. One dealer was so convinced I was not serious about buying a Stinger and kept talking about the Cadenza (and almost every other Kia models except the Stinger) the whole time I was sitting and checking out the Stinger. A dealer from another brand said to my face when I asked to compare one of their cars to the Stinger - he said the Stingers are a sporty looking car that is actually sporty (he actually said this, lol) and one of their cars (I think it was the Samsung-Renault SM6 aka Renault Talisman) looks less sporty (obviously) and suitable for a nerdy/geeky type of guy (me). Obviously, I did not like his answer. Then the dealer that got my business, I actually test-drove a Sportage with him, and asked a lot about the Optima and Cadenza, only a bit on the Stinger (since I got a lot of info from other dealers). After our 3rd visit to his showroom, he simply just asked what I was thinking, and I said, I actually like the Stinger - then he just said, it's the best Kia model currently available and I will like the Stinger much more than the other 'boring' cars Kia make. I told him to just shut up and take my money!

Car-wise, I grew up learning to drive my dad's BMWs. Then my first car was a Nissan estate, then a tiny Toyota, then a big Toyota. I moved countries a lot the last 13-14 years, so never got to own any car for a long period but been driving a lot, various makes and models such as the Audi A3 Sportback, VW Sharan, BMW 520d, Mazda 6, Mercedez Vito van, VW Caravelle van, Hyundai Sonata, Honda City, Ford Focus, that's all I can recall at this moment. The Stinger is the first car I actually took the time to research and get deeply involved with. Previously, cars were just a mean of transportation for me. I like to hand wash and detail all my cars myself, the Stinger will be no exception. We should have a threat about detailing our Stingers. I am also an avid Formula 1 fan - watch almost every race, every year.

I like playing PC games, I like computer and tech in general. I continously learning about computer programing and data science. The first online forum I joined was about keyboards, computer keyboards, and just about keyboards, lol. I also get deeply involved with fountain pens and inks. Also, I like photography and audio. Wow, I just realized I have such random interests.

But now, I've been inspired to be a pornstar by @westcoastGT :D:p:D:rofl:

Well, let's see. Where to begin... :)

Started off in fast food at McDonald's. Quickly moved up to a shift manager position, inventory ordering and the like, but quit when a sister McDonald's freezer broke down so they asked if I had room in our. I said yeah, plenty of room. I'll just move my inventory in the back and you guys can use the front for your stuff. I came in the next morning and the jerks had mixed both store's inventory togther. There was no telling what was ours and what was theirs. This was a big freezer, about 8'x20' and after I spent the whole day to move all of my store's inventory to the back and left them the front. And then was pretty much told, go in there and figure out which is which. I asked where the person was that mixed all this together and why isn't he helping to seperate? Then I was told, well, he's running his shift and isn't available. I turned in my keys then and there.

Then went on to Taco Bell, moved up to shift management... oh, not my life story? hehehe

I currently work for Suddenlink Communications in Bossier City, La. I've been working there since 2009. I started off as an installer, or cable rat (guys that could crawl through the smallest attics to run wire, etc). From there, I took all the company provided training and was working my way up to become a maintenance techinican that drive the bucket trucks. An opportunity opened up in the headend (big concrete bunker of a data center that's rated for an F4 tornado and got that job. I was in that position for about 3 years, working with the RF side of the cable plant both video and data. Then a position opened up for a RIPE (Regional IP Engineer) and got it. Now I deal with everything in the HE that I didn't for the first 3 years working in the headend, the big stuff, routers, switches, and the tunnels and explicit paths that are involved with all of that. I guess you can say, I'm a Jack off all trades in the cable business. Yes, I've even climbed numerous poles before but I'd rather carry my ladder 100 yards, both ways, before I would throw my gaffs on and climb a pole. When it finally sinks in that the only thing holding you up (Imagine a sharpened pencil) is the size of sharpened pencil. I did gaff-out one time at the top of a pole. There I am, 25ft in the air, coming back down and my first step, my right gaff misses the mark.. imagine, stand flat flooted. Now, bring your left leg all the way up with your knee to your chin. Now imagine that 25ft up. I think it took me about 20min to calm down enough to get down, about another 20min to get into position to stab my right gaff back into the pole and then about another 20min climbing down. LOL

My hobbies include (I won't include cars as a hobby as I like to look at and be in them more than I work on them) PC gamin, audio, movies and PLEX.tv. I have moved all my audio and video over to digital and have it stored on my 48TB Plex server. I can watch the movies that I own from anywhere with internet access. I have an pretty eclectic taste in music but I don't pretty much like any modern country or hip hop, but will listen to jazz, blues, classical, rock, heavy metal, death metal, EDM, dubstep, Pop, etc. Aslo big on anime. Some weird stuff, some not so weird, stuff that will make you scratch your head and some of it I've never even watched it. I just like the name or the description.

And here we are :)

Hi Taimaishoo ,
Thanx for sharing more about yourself, the part where you had too climb 25ft high, was freakin me out, picturing that in my mind is scary when your afraid of heights like myself.

Well! It sounds like you have the same kind of silly dealers and sales people we have here. I guess it's the same everywhere. Too bad a couple places lost your business. But at least you found somebody worthy of taking your money.

You gave me an idea of starting a new section about detailing. Look at the home page (main forum listing) as I'm going to setup a new section after I'm done with this message...

Yes, you do have many varying interests! I guess you're a fan of Mont Blanc pens?

Well, you've had some interesting experiences. Some of those fast food restaurants are so badly managed. It's a shame that so many people get their start there - and see that as the norm. Your new job sounds much better but I wouldn't want to be 25 feet in the air held up by a pencil. :p hehe. As for music, yes, you're very diversified. Me as well. I like a little bit of everything...

Not until my gaff missed the pole. :)

Did i forget to mention, it's a steel spike about the size of a sharpened pencil? hehe

Thank you, i'll be visiting that section quite often.

Nope, not those Montblanc pens. They are way too expensive. I actually like the inks, pens are just the vehicles for using the ink for me.

I used to have a calligraphy pen once. A long, long time ago. It was fun learning with that thing...
