Yesterday, on the way to work, I was passing a truck heard heard the sound you never want to hear - a rock smashing into my windshield. I looked for damage and saw none. Thought I dodged a bullet. A few hours later when I got in my car to make a run, I noticed a 6" crack coming down the windshield. By the time I returned to my car a few hours later, the crack was almost two feet long. So I'll definitely have to get it replaced.

Same day, as I was driving home from work, I hit a gigantic pothole (was at night so it wasn't visible) and my front driver side tire immediately went flat. Luckily I was able to pull off the main road and put on the spare. Then I noticed a crack on of my rear wheels. Sigh. Costly day.

So wonderful when the locale you live in doesn't quickly repair potholes that can cost drivers a lot of $.

Hopefully, your alignment is OK. Best. Don

Many municipalities will cover the cost of repair, get in touch with the one whose responsibility it is to keep those roads in good condition.

Bummer! Hate to hear that and the $$ it's gonna cost. You have my sympathy.

Last Wednesday, we took our "new" just purchased minivan on it's maiden voyage. 7 minutes in, we meet a truck pulling a skid steer. A rock flew up and hit our windshield. I just about came out of my seat it was so loud. Can't believe it didn't crack, but doesn't seem that it did.

Last month, a screw in the road struck my Stinger left rear tire in the sidewall. Just under 4000 miles on it. New tire, mount and balance $327.

I've hit turkey and deer in relatively new cars in the past (turkey just a minor scrape, deer was ~$3000 in cosmetic damage). I'm already ahead of the curve at 15k miles without any major damage, although someone did try to drive me off the road a few months ago which could have resulted in a bad day (for both of us). I figure with any vehicle the longer the car exists on the road, the closer it is to an accident.

Yeah I just learned that there's a claims area on the website of our state department of transportation. So I filled out in a claim and am waiting to hear back.

I'm guessing I will have to replace both front tires since it's AWD.

Yikes, sorry to hear about your crap day.

Hopefully your location is not as bad as others at filling pot holes.
Lol. I AM in Missouri, but on the other side. But potholes here are just as bad, probably worse. After the recent snow, they are everywhere. And many areas are ridiculously slow on fixing there. There was a recent news story about a man who raises money and buys supplies to fix them on his own b/c the city is so slow.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck - I hope the rest of the week will be better.
