Thank you! I’m not really sure of the details..... my husband is a GM for a Kia/ Mazda dealership..... he brought me home a 2019 stinger .... it made this awful noise in the front end.... we were told through Kia, that this is an on going problem, something with the bearing overheating ..... I’m sorry if my female interpretations of this are cloudy..... I was just wondering if anyone else had the same or similar issue...

Hang in there Jenny. As Ozstung said someone more helpful will be along soon to help you out. In the interim can you give us some info as to what is happening? Describe the noise, when does it occur etc. Off the top of my head I can’t recall anyone reporting similar problems before.

Welcome Jennifer
Tell us more about your car and the problems you are having. Is there a noise coming from the front or back?

My husband took the car back to his dealership..... it’s now on a “no sale” list and being sent back to Kia. That normally means it’s Headed for a recall... I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this issue.

Oh the noise was like a loud grinding, and the steering was pulling. Pulling worse then needing an Alignment....

@Jennifer diblasio, welcome to the forum. Sounds absolutely catastrophic: seized bearings, dead car, "Here, have another one. We'll take back the dead one." Am I right?

Sounds like it could be warped brake rotors. Was the car new?

Ball bearings are used all over the car, pretty much anywhere something is rotating. Unfortunately that's not enough information for us to begin to guess what went wrong with your stinger.
Common places a bearing might go bad would be wheel bearings, water pumps and pulleys, fans, possibly a turbocharger. All of these would normally be repaired under warranty, not "quarantined" like it's some kind of lost cause.

I haven't heard of any recalls for the stinger at all, much less something related to bearings.

Sorry I can't be more help

Jen, i sent you a private msg just click on the little envelope next to the bell at top of page.

Are you trying to trigger me AV8R? :p

Many people do get noisy front brakes (it isn't warped rotors, but likely pad deposits on the rotors), but if the car is noisy and tugging without brakes being applied, a failed front wheel bearing is absolutely possible.

It's a manufacturing fault with a component that Kia (and many other car manufacturers) buy in bulk if that's the case - these things happen, it isn't a reflection on Kia except in how they deal with It.

Ignore what people who aren't interested in helping you say.

Well , I’m not sure that’s totally correct. We never “signed” on the car. One of the perks of my husband working at a dealership, I guess. He tried to persuade me to get another mkz, but I’m not sure why I wanted another stin

This happens to all brands. One failed bearing (I've not seen any reports of any others) isn't a reason to turn away from the Stinger if it's the car you want!

Have you moved to Singapore?

They're actually a sealed hub unit as with most modern cars now, and yes if they are faulty they will created loud whirring sound or grinding noise.
Cars here in Australia will probably go through left hand side one's, because of the side of the road we drive on and most drain grilles , pot holes etc tend to be on gutter side...hence why we have problems.
Most hub unit are very quick and easy to replace...plus 7yr warranty don't stress...:);)
