So the Canadian Stinger (very quietly) just got the LSD. What does that mean for us with AWD and the open diff? Does this make it more likely we can swap in the LSD? Would we need a 2020 ecu, or would we be able to flash ours to 2020 logic?

Nice! I hope this bodes well for the US model. I could. e tempted to not wait for the refresh. :)

The stinger is like the only car the Canadians should be buying. They get it all. They should not even look at any BMWs or Mercs. Like the vaule is insane. If it was not so expensive to live there I might consider moving someday.

Canadian spec doesn't have the front proximity sensors, nor the Ozzie Bi-model exhaust option; still terrific value nonetheless

I just checked the Kia website, couldn't find a mention of the LSD; how did you get to know about it?

Heard it mentioned elsewhere, didn’t quite believe it, went and looked for myself and it was right there.

Interesting, it's not showing up on the desktop site, and it's quoting a starting from $49,995

On this, are there any benefits of having a Mechanical LSD over the Torque Vectoring control in the now 'older' Canadian spec AWD Stingers?

Download the 2020 brochure, it's a .pdf file. It lists the LSD and part of the GT Limited package.

Is it allowed with the AWD?
Here in the US we can get LSD with RWD but not AWD. >_<
I'm awaiting the WRX refresh as well; if they go upscale like some rumors claim... 400hp+, front, center, and rear LSD with full lock mode. :)

The GTS is awd and has the LSD (Limited Slip Differential)
That's the AWD spec. I was looking for an AWD GTS on Copart however they are very rare. And yet the Canadians can just option to have an LSD with AWD.

Yes, very quietly. When I was doing my homework on this car, the only mention of LSD was the US RWD version. I had considered this and accepted it's absence when I purchased the car. A nice surprise when I was looking through the brochure and it was mentioned that it was included in my trim level!

My question is, does that mean the Canadian car (the one with which I take possession tomorrow, and I still have to break in) can drift like the special edition GTS? Here's an old article that alludes to it, but this article is too old to be about this model year's car (or is it?)

First Look: Kia Stinger D-AWD

Move on up to Canada, Eh! The value is insane. Reading around here, 40k to 45k USD is a fairly good price for a top spec Stinger AWD. That's $57k to 64k Canadian. In the land of Maple Syrup, the top spec is $50,495 CAD before Freight and PDI. which is $35,500 US!

I believe the 2020 Canadian GT Limited (AWD with LSD) will probably "drift" better in the snow vs non LSD but you will always have that 20% to the front wheels since there is no drift mode / Rear wheel drive only mode.... So drifting on dry pavement will not be really possible like the GTS AWD with drift mode.

True that the Kia Stinger is a good value for us Canadian. I was going to buy one in March but because of the pandemic I am now waiting to see for the 2021 model (hopefully we will get news late summer) and either go for the face lifted Stinger or get a good discount price on a 2020 limited.

I got the 2020 GT Limited, so I guess I got the limited slip diff. Sweet! I think they also added swivelling headlights too. They swing left and right when you move the steering wheel. So far it’s been a great car. Only has 7000km on it, and has only been out for a few trips over the last 6 weeks.

I also marvelled at the price diff to the USA. I paid under $50k Cdn. 0% interest. Best deal out there I think.

Adaptive headlights, I believe, were on Canadian models all along.

Lucky if you got 0%, I got 0.99%. BTW, the deals are even better this month, with Kia paying for the first six payments (NOT deferral, but paid off). I'm sure the deal on the car itself would be harder to negotiate, though

I suspect the deals will get crazy once the dealerships open again.

Unfortunately this 6 months paid deal exclude the Stinger and is based on 84 months "0%" financing (not actual 0% financing since if you take regular financing at around 2.79% you have cash rebates that are greater 6 months of payment anyway...).
