Automotive aberrations.

Hummers are ridiculous. I've never seen a vehicle so big with so little space usable inside.

I have never understood why people living in concrete jungles buy these type of cars, never haul anything, single guys who daily drive these monstrosities. :pView attachment 49261View attachment 49262View attachment 49263View attachment 49266View attachment 49267
You'll probably get all sorts of replies to this.
1. People feel safer.
2. It offers a better view.
3. My wife is a bad driver.
4. We've got kids to haul.

Personally i agree theyre over kill in a big city. And make bad drivers extra dangerous.

Our FCA minivans (first '08, now '15, the '15 is now a 3rd car, besides a Stinger and a mk7 GTI) have been used to haul 7 people at least 20+ times, 50+ 4x8 sheets of plywood/OSB/drywall each minimum, just yesterday/today used it to move a good chunk of my wife's classroom into her parent's house next door since she'll be teaching from home, etc.. Plus, it has a hitch to hold our bike carrier so we can take our family's 4 bikes somewhere for an outing.

I've petitioned to sell it a few times, but she wants to keep it (yes, my wife wants to keep the minivan!), and so far, it's been a good choice. It can even run on E85.. If I could find a decent hitch for the Stinger, it could maybe at least take over bike carrier duties...

The first photo of the X6M is a good example of an aberration. I can imagine the BMW designer saying, OK let’s take a X5, mutilate the rear end into some ugly coupe like shape with less luggage and rear seat room and charge more for it. Yep...great idea. The only problem is people still buy them. WTF.

That fourth pic has to be some kind of 4x4 meet; there's no way that many "Jeeps" lined up like that at random. :D

OP question: the real puzzle is why anyone would choose a 3.3TT with 376 pound feet of torque to drive 99% of the time in nose to tail, stop and go, rush hour traffic: but they do. :p

What the heck is going on with the second pic ? the wheels look out of alignment with the cab unless it's the odd camera angle ?

Yes, agree definitely a meet, no coincidence there's that many Jeeps out together at the same time.
Kinda cool that when Stingers group up it is known as a " Swarm " other cars don't have that ability, I mean what do you call a bunch of Jeeps ?
apart from lame

hey now... i take offense to this post!! :P :P jk I agree most people buy true suv's and never utilize them for their purpose. The hummer h2 was a failure mostly due to the price point and who purchased them.. .they are actually very capable vehicles offroad as they all came with rear lockers, great approach/departure angles, water fording depth... just suffered from too much weight. But most people who bought them, slapped on some 26 inch wheels with rubberband tires and made true abominations.. haha.

We do some light offroading and was looking at 4runners, gx470s but in our price range, they were either ridiculous high miles or rusted out. Also with the exception of the newer model years and one particular year in the gen we were looking at, no lockers at all. Stumbled on our h3 adventure package, and fell in love.. little 3.5 i5 20 mpg highway, 33 inch tires from factory, factory rear diff lock, 4:1 transfer case.. exterior dimensions are almost identical to the 2003+ 4runner as well. the h3's especially look a lot larger than they are... also, the hummer has a 2 feet smaller turning diameter than our stinger awd :D

20200816_154853.webpall that to say, that lifted pickup in the second pic??? we like to call them princess trucks.. because the minute most of those hit a bump something is most likely to break... tsk tsk.

Sorry just my feelings... if you are a farmer hauling stuff day and night or a contractor carrying bricks maybe would make sense to have a monster pick up

haha i agree on people who buy fullsize pickups as their dailys who don't need them for work or any monster lifted vehicles.. they actually (unless actually built like a true monstertruck) can barely handle being driven on pavement much less offroad.

He linked the rear and the cheap track bar he installed broke, he likely bent all his shock shafts and shock mounts at a minimum.
You can see it dragging behind.

Dude you own an R8, the irony haha.

Don't take that as me saying the R8 is ugly I just mean that 90% of people would ask why you need to have for a car like that just like you're saying here for these cars.

Different strokes for different folks, that's all it is.

It's broken. See the "strut thingy" dragging on the ground?

(ah, I see @Hawk373 already pointed that out, with real terms and not "thingy", hah  )
