Possible to add auto up/down for rear windows? I searched the forums and only found a couple tangential references to this in this and the Technology forums. My Toyota Highlander has it for all 4 door windows. I drive with the windows down a lot, and it's mildly frustrating to be able to one-touch the fronts, but then have to hold the rears.

What would it take to add the function to the rears? Is it internal to the window switches themselves? Or controlled elsewhere? The front auto up/down switches have the double detent in them, and I think the form factor is the same for the front and rear switches...could it be as simple as getting two replacement front switches to install in the rear doors?

I think there should be some software involved as well. In my old 2002 Opel (GM), the up/down switches had only one detent but if you held it pressed for more than 2 sec then the window would go all the way up or down. To stop it, once activated, you had to short press on either direction.

I would like to be able to do this as well.

This was an odd omission by Kia. Even my base model 2014 Passat had this.

Cost saving measure, I think. I'm fairly sure the Korean version has it. If I remember correctly, there was an "aftermarket" (Korean spec part) option for the Optima. I think there was a module to replace and the 2 rear switches as well. Those would need a switch with the 2 position lever. Check out K8 Stinger store to see if they have the option, they might be able to source it if there is enough interest in doing the upgrade.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
All 4 of mine auto up/down. I actually find it mildly annoying as I only like to crack the rear windows.

did they add it to the 2021my for korea or was it available there in the previous years as well? Here in the US, rears are not auto up/down. Also, the switches should be dual stage so if you don't press them all the way down past the first click, it should act like a normal window switch.

Yeah I am very surprised (and rather disappointed) that my $40k+ MSRP "luxury and performance Halo car" wouldn't have all four windows with this feature.

Is there a quick or easy plus cheap way to fix this? I can live without it but would prefer to have it.

:D

To be honest, I have no idea if its new or not. Sorry.

I probably activate the auto down 50% of the time by accident. I guess I'm just not used to it yet.

Do the US cars have the two stage buttons, and it doesn't work, or its just a different switch? I imagine parts could be ordered from Korea to convert. Bummer that is necessary.

The fronts are auto up down and have the 2 stage switches . The rears are not auto so they have single stage switches. I'm assuming some programming would need to be done as well as the switches.
