(first: please someone tell me this can be disabled these days by default :P)

I noticed an odd behaviour. If I roll to a parking slot, brake to a halt .. engine stops quite immediatly. I hit the P button of the gearbox ..... and the engine jumps to life again. Whut?

Hit the OFF button for the engine instead. The car will automatically shift to park and shut off, without restarting the engine.

No user option to defeat isg automatically, though people have posted various means of mechanically jamming the defeat button to keep it depressed. Myself, I like the feature ...

Yup that's what it does, bad design, in my opinion, you can stop the car in the parking slot with less brake force and the car will not turn off. Most people I believe turn off the auto engine start and stop because it's more annoying then gas saving.

It's part of my startup routine. Press the start button, turn off ASG, turn on auto hold.. off I go.

Same for me, Start, press ASG, Press Auto Hold, Turn on Seat cooling, turn to Sport, smash the gas and hold on :D
