• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia Bi-Modal Exhaust Updates

Here is the comparison of exhausts to help people with their decision -

For me it's good and loud but too expensive being 5% of the car price - what a ripoff. However it begs this question

Q. what is even louder and more expensive?
A. your woman.

Yes it is - we share the same one. Kia NZ had to get one over here for evaluation as to whether it was OK under NZ regs which it is. This is the video they made. Personally I like the sound but what it is like on the road is anybody's guess.

It sounds ok but I think it can be a little deeper. I wonder if anyone has gone to a specialist exhaust centre for a quote. Would a non factory bi-modal exhaust affect performance and tuning?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
You must be hanging out with the wrong type of woman lol!

Yeah, Nuh - Kiwi women are generally loud. Most kiwi blokes develop automatic neurological noise canceling and verbal autopilot response mechanisms... "yes dear, no dear, what was that dear?..."

Would be great if Kia could develop a noise canceling system that works just for the driver... "your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying..." (with all due respect to Roger Waters).

Haha lol, have seen a few of them in Oz.

Like to share this video which i first saw at least two months ago, shows a similar comparison as the first video posted, Stinger with stock exhaust, and then a Stinger with the Australian bi modal exhaust fitted.
Enjoy.

When will the exhaust be ready for installing on cars in NZ?

I guess it’s when the dealers get their act together and order them in. In Oz they are a bit slow with that. Surprisingly enough there has been no tv ads for the Stinger. When you talk to the dealers they know very little compared to members on this forum.

Strange. It’s all over tv in NZ. My dealer told me around mid December that production had started and we’d be looking at mid to end January to have them in NZ, but haven’t had an update since then.

Some more info on the Aussie bi-modal exhaust designed by Lumen, a Melbourne based company, whom supplied exhausts for Holden Special Vehicles, could be made in Clayton or Footscray, Victoria.

Yep that’s the company, could not remember the name before.
