• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I read a post on Kia Stinger Owners Club of Australia/NZ on Facebook, I believe this Micro Blue Stinger lives in NSW, the owner writes:

My new baby got keyed yesterday in a public car park. I’m so blue I admit it may have been my stupidity, I told hubby to park far from the entrance and take 2 spots so no one hits the doors. She is new after all. And though there were plenty of spots I guess it pissed someone off. But it’s still a very low thing to do.

Some of the other members believe it's because the Stinger was parked over two parking spaces, and if it was parked in a single park, it may have not happened. Still unacceptable to damage anothers car.

OMG!! how awful, there are some real scum bags out there.I try to isolate my car but I have to admit I am reluctant to take up two parking spaces in case something like this happens, people do get peeved off rightly or wrongly. A friend of mine has a Ford Ranger and the second week they had it someone scraped both side panels so it had to be fixed, so then she started taking up two car spaces and she said people would give her looks and some would comment, like " Can't you park properly? " she told one fella " it's been hit " some people don't care.

taking 2 spots is asking for trouble , I dont support damaging cars for it but it does get reactions from knuckle draggers

I've had this done to ,at the time I thought I knew who it was, motive: jealousy + alcohol.

I never ever park in a carpark unless on a meet next to another stinger. It's always nose to tail on the street.

It is always challenging when parking a car like the Stinger. I try and park well away from other vehicles always on an end bay as close to the kerb as I can get. At least I can only get parked next to by one other car so reduces my chances of damage by half. My wife thinks I am mad as I usually take a little time finding the 'right' bay. But standing out as the Stinger does, can attract persons of the sort mentioned in this post who feel we have no right to have nice cars.

These self centred self intitled pieces of:poop: feel they or their cars are more important than others. To quote:rolleyes: they are "asking for trouble". When I had the Passat and saw one of these idiots I liked to park my passenger side so close to their drives side that the idiot would have to crawl in though his passager side. The person doing the keying is a specimen lower than :poop:. Of coursee I would never play this silly game with my Stinger. That would just be "asking for trouble".:p

Here us Stinger owners are rightfully so careful and alot of thought goes into where we park our Stinger, which is so understandable and we can all relate, yet everyday I see owners of Audi's, BMW's, Mercedes, cars and SUV's that I presume cost the same if not much more , seem too park them wherever, I guess a majority of these owners are not real car enthusiasts like us Stinger owners, and those cars are just another status symbol that gets replaced every year or so.

.................dent their doors or scratch their cars , no big deal ! But remove their badge ???? God forbid !!:laugh:

Looks from the pic like it didn't get into the paint, just clear coat. It's very light colored. Hopefully. Should buff out then wax or acrylic fill the low spot, several coats maybe.

I never take two spots unless I am still sitting in the car waiting for my wife (did that at the credit union last week in fact). Park far away on the end and watch out for your rims (there, I've echoed several posts above in one sentence! ).

The high end car owners of Porche, etc probably have their cars totally PPF'd so not so worried about scratches etc but if you nick their badges, that's where it would hurt. Although the Mercs have an alarm under their badges, I know this due to when I was 19 and really drunk one night celebrating with friends we tried to touch the badge and it alarmed so we all ran off.

That's devastating, makes me feel sick to see that damage.

Shamelessly take up 2 spots in larger empty parking lots (might start thinking twice before doing this after seeing what happened to Micro Blue) but if its a busy lot just have to find a nice end spot preferably not under a tree because of birds & tree crap falling on the car. Also don't ever park near a shopping cart corral for obvious reasons...used to work at a grocery store in HS and saw/heard shopping carts hit cars weekly. The average person is careless and oblivious to other people's personal property. Funny pic related.

Yes, these days people are to damn lazy to take their shopping trolleys back to the trolley corral. My Optima, which I traded in for my Stinger was hit by a loose trolley and ended with a dent in the left front bumper. With my new Stinger I will not park around loose trolleys and I park up wind just in case.( it was a wild windy day when my car was hit )

I use to see carts race across the lots too during windy & stormy days (no one was safe on those occasions)...I remember saving a few peoples cars from the impending doom of a runaway cart.

There are no shopping carts out on the margins, far away from any corrals. Just a consideration …..
