• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I have watched car reviews by MotorTrend Channel for years, and I like their Ignition Episodes and the Head 2 Head Episodes, yesterday I decided to watch a review uploaded back in 2016 on the 2016 Chevrolet SS Sedan, it was amusing to hear the reviewer at 4:08 minutes in, mention,

" who knew those criminals down in Australia, could do such a good job at chassis tuning"...:rofl::laugh::rofl:

Geez, we were criminals 230 years ago...when will people just let it go....:rofl::rofl:
But our Government hasn’t changed, I’m still being robbed, I mean taxed!

The US started as a penal colony as well if memory serves...

From Wikipedia:

The British used colonial North America as a penal colony through a system of indentured servitude. ... It is estimated that some 50,000 British convicts were sent to colonial America and the majority landed in the Chesapeake Colonies of Maryland and Virginia.

The English off loaded their rabble in a few places and ruled others for years like India and parts of Asia

Who would of thought my opening post is turning into a History lesson, I'm really into history by the way..:), some history on James Alexander Holden, born 1st April 1835 - died 1st June 1887, arriving in Adelaide in 1852. He was born in Walsall, Historically part of Staffordshire, England.

I know one thing the world talks English and that's not because we sat on our Arses.:laugh:.

Ooooh, that’s going to get a reaction.

Sure it is, because it's a lie.

Not arguing with the penal colony part, just the word ‘started’.

(Wiki)

"The British colony of New South Wales was established with the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 vessels under the command of Captain Arthur Phillip in January 1788. It consisted of over a thousand settlers, including 778 convicts (192 women and 586 men)."

"In all, about 164,000 convicts were transported to the Australian colonies between 1788 and 1868 on board 806 ships."

Whereas, the 13 Colonies began in 1607 with Britain sending convicts or "indentured servants" over to the colonies from 1718 to 1775.

"It is estimated that some 50,000 British convicts were sent to colonial America."

So the timing of when the American and Australian colonies received their initial influx of convicts in respect to their founding, and as to the total number of convicts received, are radically different.

But heh, that's history ...

(P.S. the Chevy SS was still a great car, but no AWD meant it was never on my radar)

Finally, a bite.

The "Australia is all convicts" line is pretty damned old, frankly.

There's plenty both our countries did in the past, none of which those of us today are responsible for.

Chris Columbus Day is being changed to "Indigenous People's Day" in parts over here. It is all a reaction to the guilt of "White Privilege". Flagellants are alive and well and there are a hell of a lot more of them than in the Middle Ages.

Finally, reality.

There's no comparison to what occurred in America vs. other British Colonies.

Regardless of that fact, radical wackos are trying to rewrite history. They will fail.
