• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Audio volume on my Stinger seems to be playing up ,normal listening volume was about 6-8 bars,
yesterday on start could not hear audio until i increased volume to approx 18 bars. Would like to know what level of audio bars you are experiencing before i go to the dealer. many thanks in advance

2 - 4 bars is usually comfortable. Once in a while there will be something I have to turn up to 10 - 12 bars.

is this happening with Bluetooth devices? If so this is not a "bug" nor is it unique to the Stinger; turn the volume up on your phone.

I’ll go along with what Legendsk said. 2-4 bars for radio for me also but an audio recording of questionable quality over Bluetooth might get pumped up to high teens. But try resetting the head unit first before you go racing off to the dealer. That might be all it needs with any luck.

Ditto: radio (FM) volume is way louder per "bar" than USB sourced music. I just turn the volume up or down to suit the source. That's what VOLUME adjustment is for. :) Now, if the volume went up and down during a session of listening, on its own, that would be a trip to the dealer alright.

Just an old fart here (75) whom is computer illiterate,so how would one go about resetting the head unit? Just for further info the volume is an all inputs . USB,phone ,am,FM,

For radio I find 4-6 suits me but from USB/flash drive I use 10 and crank it up for favourites. I haven't experienced audio fluctuations but get the usual fade in poor reception areas.
@bob2s do you regularly visit a certain apartment complex in North Parramatta?

Nope Shannon ,by the way this is not a fluctuation, just jumped from Normal 6 bar from 1 start to the next time I started the car, which required 18 bar to obtain the same audi level it had before

The exact procedure is in the manual but it’s as simple as sticking a paper clip into a tiny hole on the front of the head unit. No technological whiz bangery requiquired. Can’t remember the exact details off the top of my head but it’s a simple procedure.

A ballpoint pen works too.

A thing to remember is that the knob on the dash changes the volume of whatever you are listening (and not any other sources). But the button on the wheel will change entertainment volume and not mess with the information / alerts volume. So if you are listening to USB audio and the lady on the Nav system is telling you to turn right in 0.25 miles - the wheel button will change the USB audio and the dash knob will change the Nav lady, but only while she is speaking. Between her nags, the dash knob will change the USB. So it's pretty easy to change something accidentally with the knob, then you wonder why it is not where you left it last time.
