I used to compete in car audio years ago. My son is at school, and I got bored so gutted his Stinger and replaced front doors with reference 6.5, 3" BMR mids and Hertz OE tweeters (all in stock locations with best I could manage mods to improve position and mounting. Modest sound deadening and so forth.
Center has twin 3" BMR and one centered soft dome. Rear has a couple Ultimax 10's under construction but currently just a reference 10 from PE that actually does a decent job. Maestro AR takes full digital signal to twin Audion Forza. the 8.14 runs the system with an M1.D on the subs. They got a bit toasty during initial tuning, so I had to gut the original amp rack (which looked nice and made me throw up a little bit) and upgraded to this one with three 92mm bequiet fans running off a relay. Now the amps stay nice and cool regardless of the Houston heat and my incessant DSP fidgeting. Just thought I'd share.
I documented the entire build if anyone wants to see more. It's probably worth competing. It sounds decent. The doors are not idea but I didn't want to trade stock look for better sound.
