Not sure why the Stinger has cupholders. Whatever it's holding will soon be all over the console, seat, and floor.:rofl:

Did someone have an unfortunate incident? I don't think it's the cupholders fault, but rather the cup designs themselves, I don't seem to have any problem when I use bottles in the holders :P

Both here: I've spilled (only water, though) when filling and I leave the cup in the holder. Remove it first, Dougy! And don't put it back in the holder until you have the lid firmly back on.

That said, I will pour water into my cup (in the holder) while driving: a tricky maneuver for sure, because even when no traffic is around, I still have to watch where I am going while I tip water from the gallon bottle into the open cup, without spilling; which, on most of our roads, is problematic: I have to time the tips of the bottle with the smoother parts of the road: an action that I do not possess enough foreknowledge to accomplish with one hundred percent accuracy! Fortunately, water is easy to wipe away.

That doesn't sound like a good driving technique Merlin.

Only on straight stretches; only with no other vehicles anywhere near my body; only by watching the road and glancing down as I tip a bit more water in; then reassess the road; tip; reassess: to fill my c. 16 oz cup takes up to a minute, depending on how bumpy the road is!

You would like that. :D But I put cruise control on, sedately, and as I said, straight ahead, glance down: probably a ratio of watching the road eight or nine tenths, most of the time: if the road is really smooth, of course, the pouring goes much smoother and quicker, and also I can watch the pouring more, but never more than fifty-fifty attention.

And this is only water...not wine...

Correct. Teetotaler here, my entire life. If I lived in Aus, you lot would just roll your eyes and shake your heads: I would be an anomaly, if not an "alien lifeform"! I'd be good with it, though. There ARE Mormons in Aus, you know. :D

There are plenty of morons in Australia.....oh...you meant mormons. Yes we have them too. I think there is a couple of teetotalers too somewhere.

"Let's see, there must be a teetotaler around here somewhere. Let me check, and I'll get back with you!" (what a typical Aussie says)

"You want to buy a drink? You'll have to do that, over there, in that State sanctioned bar. Oh, and available beer has one third less alcohol here, just so you know. Wait, did the Church just allow that we could import the more potent stuff? I think they did, so, you're good to go! Have fun touring Utah, and stay sober!" (what we say  )

They do like their beer in Australia. I think we are up there with the Germans for the highest consumption of beer in the world. I am not one of those Aussies though, preferring cider and spirits on the odd occasion. Good on you for being a teetotaler though Merlin. Certainly good for your health.

Pro Tip......there's a neat little thing called a lid. They work great to keep liquid in cups.

I believe the cup holders are fine for what they were designed to hold: cups. I carry Powerade bottles and under heavy braking they fly out which can be a hazard especially if they find there way under a brake pedal.

The cup holders for me are redundant unless I reduce the bottle size or use cans. But I only drink water. Grog free 17 years now. Dangerous stuff if you inherit the wrong gene.

The Morons definitely out number the Mormons by a whooping great margin. I had friend years ago at Uni who was a Mormon.

Iv'e never had an issue with the cup holders and mine are slightly raised because I have lighted cup coasters in the bottom.I only put cans or water bottles with lids on in them anyway, oh and the occasional choc shake from Macca's.
