Are the stock turbos supposed to make an audible whistle?

I've come across posts where people say that stock turbos should be silent.

My stock turbos have started to make a whistle sound. It is faint but audible. Is this normal? (might need headphones to hear it properly)

I can't hear a whistle. which might mean that I can't hear mine whistling either. high frequency hearing damage here though. hah.

for contrast, I recall posts where whistling turbos are considered completely normal and expected.

Yes. The car is fully stock.

Are you sure that its not coming from speakers? That's a lot of good sound for stock car and low load. I mean it, it sounds great even if something was off I'd accept the fact lol

Mine sounds pretty much the same, I been told by service advisors and a few others thats it’s normal.
