i know the paint is thin so I have a paint pen, however even after touching up a chip on the roofline that meets the windshield has began to rust. I wanted to know if anyone else has had similar issues.

Haven’t seen that yet. I’ve got a nice sized chip and dent from a rock that hit the roof. Haven’t seen it rust yet

Paint gauge comparisons with other cars have shown that the paint isn't overly thin - it's actually thicker than a lot of cars.

Regardless, one well placed rock kicked up in the right place, regardless of what car it is, and it's going to gouge down to the metal. If not attended to quickly it's going to rust - and if left to fester it's going to get under the adjacent paint and the repair cost are going to go up big time.

If you touched that up before, I'd say unfortunately it wasn't very effective. Give it a light sanding to make sure it's down to shiny rust-free metal this time, and clean it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol before applying more touch up paint with a fine brush. Use several very light coats, letting them dry in between until you are up to the level of the surrounding paint. It's a pretty tiny area, but it wouldn't hurt to put a spot of primer on the clean metal first before the color coats.

Take your time and you'll never even notice it was there.

Having been away for most of the winter, I washed my car last week and noted dozens of pinpoint rust spots all over the sides of the car, on both doors almost up to the door handles. Mine is a white 2018 Stinger GT with less than 12,000 kilometres on it. It is very disturbing to see so much rust on a car which is only two years old. Anyone else noted a similar problem?

It's external iron particles that land on and adhere to the paint surface, and rust on top of it - it's not the metal underneath rusting. Use either a light cleaner wax/compound or a product like Iron-X to clean it up and it will look like new.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
