I'm flirting with the idea of doing some DIY ECU flashing, but before I go ripping my car apart and frying things it might be prudent to get educated on the topic. Does anyone have a high res photo of the inside of their ECU they'd be willing to share? I'm mostly looking for chip labels and jumper locations.

Tork has posted pictures of his setup from time to time and has posted a few interesting notes and screenshots. You can use the probe rigs from China. You'll have to pay a decent amount of money for the software tools. The actual flash data is far more tricky.
the learning curve is extremely steep. While the chips themselves are pretty standardized these days, the specific tables and algorithms are very unique. The Stinger is a poor choice to learn on. No one has leaked a full mapping of the ECU yet, so it's a lot of semi-blind experimentation. Extremely easy to destroy something.

Yes you will spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in diy and end up with a pile of poo. Just send your ecu to Tork.

Hmm, you're right. This is a bit ambitious for me at the moment. Thanks for bringing me back to Earth:cool:
