Here's the itinerary for the cruise to Galvezton Nov 10th.

We've talked about it and it's happening again! This is a family oriented event this time...
Date: Nov 10, 2018
Where: Galveston,TX
Details:
1. Meet up points: DFW people- Meet in Madisonville @ 9:30am- leave out 10am to meet in Texas City @ 12:30pm
Austin/San Antonio- Meet Buccees in Katy,Tx- 11am- leave at 11:30 for Texas City
Houston- meet either at 1 of the above
Leaving Texas City Buccees @ 1pm to cruise Galveston.

2. Cruise details- Take 45 into Galveston, exit 61st street. Drive to Seawall blvd then cruise Seawall. Photo op when we get to East beach. Then leave to go across Ferry. After Ferry exit- go to Ft. Travis park ( 1 mile past Ferry on right). This park is free. Playground, covered barbecue areas, bring lawn games. There is no beach, but long seawall on the water overlooking the bay and Galveston port. For those not wishing to cook out- we will be leaving to go to Stingaree's Restaurant at Chrystal Beach. Reservations for restaurant will need to be made- so will need a count by Aug 15th.

3. We have a member who is a travel agent and have a host hotel. See event page/discussion for phone number.

4. Please download the "Zello" ap so we can communicate while driving. The Texas Stinger Swarm group.

Please respond if you plan to attend. We need a count. Also respond if you will be going to the Stingaree Restaurant (count for reservations).

I have my trip there mapped out with hotels. Gotta figure out the trip home yet, though. LOL I'll be alone, so it's the restaurant for me. Is that for a late lunch or is it for dinner? Also, I do my damnedest to avoid Facebook. So if you could keep things updated here as well, I'd appreciate it!

Also @Kazz, I've talked to Anthony (not sure if he is a member here) and he seems interested on going as well. I told him that someone from his area is going as well. Maybe you two can tag along and cruise down here for the meet.

He is a film maker and he has a Stinger as well, he makes video of the Stinger and posts them on YT (see link below) I think member Angel here has met with him a few times.

Reservations have been made, unfortunately. And I like that first day being a beast of a drive so the second's much shorter. Easier recovery for a good Saturday. LOL

Thanks. That's a normal time, just later than I'd hoped. I'd hoped to get north of Lufkin that night. But I do wanna stick around for dinner!

Those meeting in Katy are getting there by 11am. The actual starting place for everyone is the Texas City Bucees off hwy 45 (exit 17) at 12:30. We'll leave there at approximately 1pm to start the cruise to Galveston.

Javi is correct about the time. We're shooting for 6pm. BTW, my hubby is on the forum...jayp. I'm here because Sheila, Maria, and I manage the FB group and are helping Javi out with the cruise details. We just did a 5K trip up north and through 8 states over 3 weeks to enjoy the fall foliage. Drive safe next week!
