Anyone else have ISG disabled?

On my 2019 Stinger I used the "card trick", jamming two thicknesses of a business card in the ISG Off switch. That worked beautifully, but I didn't consider it ideal.

Now I get the 2020 Stinger and it is somehow disabled ... I don't have to press the switch or do anything ... the engine just doesn't shut off when I stop. It's great!

Did Kia do something to make it optional, or is there a setting somewhere to disable it? Or am I just lucky?

I know in my 2020 the ISG will be disabled at first when driving. I think the engine temp needs to be up to a certain point or something. Maybe that's what you car is doing?

There is a laundry list of conditions that have to be met for the ISG to be enabled - but the most likely cause is a low battery. Put it on a trickle charger overnight so the battery is fully charged and see if it's still disabled.

Likely battery never gets charged enough for it to enable. Bad / old battery. Mine hasn’t worked In a year. I only drive 10-15 miles each day If that.

If I drive for an hour or two no -stop, it will work for a bit.

I recall when I got my 2020 GT1, I was concerned why my idle stop and go was not working, but it took several miles of driving to initially start to function properly.
Now at close to 2000 miles it works unfortunately as designed.

Me too, and my wife does the same on her 2020 Santa Fe Limited.

Thanks. I guess it's possible the battery charge level is the cause. Don't get me wrong - I don't want it to work. lol.
