• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I’m thinking about an exhaust upgrade on my GT2 but I can’t really tell what the car would sound like from the videos. Anybody in SoCal do an exhaust upgrade? What are your thoughts and what kind?

Where in SoCal r u. Come check out my exhaust see what u think

I’m at the edge of LA County near Claremont. Where are you at?

Did you ever ended up getting the exhaust swap? I'm worried about the new law and how strict they might be enforcing it.
They say it has to be under 95 dB, but cops will just give tickets regardless lol

I actually did get the Borla exhaust and I really don’t find it to be that loud. I had a Lexus RC-F before my Stinger and that was louder than the Stinger with the Borla. I’ve got a friend with a stock 6 cyl Jaguar F-Type and that is much louder than my Stinger.

Sadly, Borla only offers us the s-Type (coincidently nicknamed stinger) exhaust... not their really loud atak exhaust (which I really want).

Yeah, I just got my Borla S-Type on my Stinger GT2 installed today. You're right it isn't as loud only when accelerating from lows.
Have you had any issues with cops yet? I live close to Claremont and work in Upland, so I'm sure we will bump into each other on the road :)

Nice! No, I haven’t had any issues. As you said the at resonates inside a bit at low RPM and sounds different outside. Unless you really stomp on it right next to a cop I don’t think they will bother you. Even with the exhaust it’s way less noisy than most stock mustangs and camaros.

I’ll keep an eye out for you. I never see Stingers on the road. Only like 3 or 4 in the last 4 months.

Haha I guess that could be a good thing? Don't want the Stinger to be a "common" car like all the Camrys, Civics, Accords you see at every stoplight Lol!

Oh btw, I do notice that upon slowing down to a stoplight for example, sometimes I hear a little vibration sound. I'm not sure yet on what it is or maybe the muffler guys did something wrong. Do you hear that vibration as well (is it normal)?

I kind of think that’s just the brakes and transmission in the car. I have noticed it as well but I think it’s because the transmission stays engaged even when coasting. I checked the install to make sure they installed the bushings and they did. It’s all like it should be.
