• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hello Everyone

I'm located just outside of the GTA in Cambridge, Ontario. Just curious, anybody in my vicinity that has been using the JB4 Unit? I am waiting to install my Injen CIA, front and rear Sways from Eibach and Ark GT-F Springs. I will do the Injen install shortly but will wait for spring for the springs and sways. I have been reading a lot about ECU Tunes vs something like a JB4. Still not convinced on either but would like to know if somebody close to home has had experience with either JB4 or ECU tunes?

If you want to go fast, get a JB4

In all seriousness, the difference is drastic. The JB4 doesn't activate until the oil temperature is at the optimal level so you can experience the stock power and JB4 Map 2 power in a very short amount of time. It pulls harder and accelerates like a demon.

Thanks for the reply. Do you switch much between maps or do you just basically stay on Map 2 for most of your driving? How long have you had it installed in your car? Have you had any issues?

I jumped straight to Map 2. I commute 60-75 miles each day and have had no issues with it. You have to make sure to change or re-gap your spark plugs, or you're going to have misfires. I've run the JB4 for about 4000 miles so far. No issues.

Thanks again for that info. Did you re gap your stock plugs or get new plugs and gap changed to .22?

I bought Denso Iridium plugs from Burger Tuning and gapped them to 0.22. I also regapped my stock ones to 0.26 and kept it as a emergency backup.

If you want more measurable power, this JB4 must be done. I've installed a Borla and K&N intake, and while the sound is nice, they don't move the needle at all on 0-60 times

I am installing my Injen CIA in the next couple of weeks but will take some more time debating one of the ECU Tunes or the JB4. I will be changing and gapping plugs for sure before either of those mods are done. Thank you for the feedback

Did you have a good experience at Lally?? The Windsor one is called Gus Revenberg Kia I think.
Initially purchasing I didn’t have the best luck, but they made up for it and I highly recommend speaking to certain sales people. Yeah Gus Revenberg Kia, I have my first service appointment there on Friday.

That's good, and good luck at Gus Revenberg. Was it just unknowledgeable salespeople, F&I ppl trying to rip you off, or was your car in dirty shape upon delivery from Lally?

Sorry I missed this thread earlier. Gus in Windsor is a decent place. Attentive but a bit understaffed so a little slow. Make sure, make sure, you tell them multiple times that you do not want them to wash the car upon completion of service… They do it with a bucket and stick brush. I just had my car ceramic coated prior to heading in there and I told the manager twice, and he was still concerned they might do it so I stood in the back and made sure to tell everyone who would listen. Again though genuinely good folks
