So, while getting my oil chaged yesterday, that what was discovered. Looks like rear main seal to me. Will take it to dealership asap. Can anyone, with the same problem, tell me how long did it take to get this repair done?

That looks like it was there a long time. Could still be from when it was assembled. Probably best to clean it up and check it again at the next oil change before allowing Kia to destroy your car.

It wasn't there last oil change (around 3400 miles). Stuff like this is really discouraging. The car has little over 30k miles. Already found several threads with the same problem. Why do you say about kia destroying the car? People who got it fixed, didn't say anything bad about that repair.

@SKStinger is making a general comment about the incompetence that seems to be prevalent among Kia service facilities.

If your oil level prior to the change was good then I’d do exactly what he said, clean it up real good and verify the issue at the next change. Right now it appears that it could be seepage and not a full blown leak. Waiting until the next change won’t be an issue and at least you’ll have before/after photos to take to the dealership with you.

Oil level hasn't changed. Obviously this leak has just started. I am going to dealership for hatch struts replacement this week. Will have them take a look at it, and put it in thier system. And it looks like g70 owners are having the same issue. Realy hope it is just bad part, and not a design flaw, that will turn it into maintenance item.

Hi, looking for an update here? Have you had this fixed? I have the same issue going in for stinger recall but also have a seal leaking wondering how it went

@Ohiocruiser @Zstinger any updates on your rear main seal? I may also have the same issue. Cleaned it up and monitoring to see if it comes back

If my rear main seal leaks i'm gonna fit a Voodoo engine in there complete with 10spd auto!

I’ve just been monitoring it wiped down several times it keeps coming back. I haven’t addressed it at the dealer yet.
Gotcha, keep us posted if you do end up addressing it. What miles you at?
