Have to order another new left front tire. This will be the second tire we have had installed. In March we hit a crater on the interstate. On my way to work today drove over a sunken manhole cover and my left front side wall fails. Awesome!!!!! Nothing better to start the day than having your car towed and replacing a tire.

That's why after I negotiated my lease payments I also included tire and wheel insurance.
An additional $29 a month but if you bend a wheel or blow a tire from a pot hole the wheel and tire will be replaced at no charge.

That's unfortunate ...
Do you have a picture of the damage to the tire, and was the rim damaged at all?

I’ll be talking to the dealership to see if we can get a warranty now. I’ve never had this type of issue with tires.

Didn’t look like any new rim damage. The side walls were scruffed up from th crater. I didn’t grab a pick of the side wall failure.

Ask about Tire and Wheel insurance.
Let us know if they will do it and for how much.
Its priceless in the winter and messed up streets.

19” life, eh? I have no clue how much more delicate 19’s are than 18’s, but that worry definitely weighed on my decision of which trim to get (ultimately decided on a 2.0 with 18’s).

Wow that is a big pot hole. Have them check the wheels for cracks or bends, all of them not just the one that blew out.
For the tire to blow out it must have been a very strong hit.

....I thought that only on the roads of my country were these tire killers......d@mn !!!

I was going less than 10 MPH when I struck the area. The dealer will check the rim when they install the new tire.

All of this will be avoided when I become president.

When elected I will convert all roads to rubber and all tires to cement. No more flat tires! And if the road gets a flat we'll just patch it up.

Vote for me in 2020! :D

Tire and wheel insurance is mandatory in my opinion.
I had a C300 Benz with AMG wheels and bent 3 of them from potholes fro the NYC winter, if I had to replace they would have cost over $1000 each including new tires.
With insurance nothing.

Decently positive news. Kia roadside covered the tow to the dealership. We were advised that since we bought our tires from the dealership and bought the OEM we were covered under a Roadside warranty. The front tires are 229.00 and we only had to pay for mount and balance.

I also addressed the paint issue. I’m going to do a good handwash this weekend take pictures of the various paint spots where the paint has chipped.

Curious, is the city not responsible for keeping the roads in somewhat of a stable condition?

Glad to hear Kia took care of you!

Well, it happened. Hit a pothole and bent the left front and rear rims. No tire damage Luckily I have rim and tire insurance. Because of the weekend and holiday, the new rims probably won't be in till next week.

A lot of people I don't think are familier with tire and wheel insurance.
I think its worth it.
I drive in Manhattan and New Jersey and some of those pot holes are like Mortar rounds.

I won't be complaining about Korean road quality anymore.

Man, im super lucky I guess, socal roads are terrible and ive hit many many potholes and boyh low and high speeds, with no known damage yet
