Second negative article I've seen from them regarding the dealership experience.
https://jalopnik.com/no-kia-is-not-requiring-dealerships-to-markup-the-stin-1823264705

Tom, the author, is asking for Stinger owners to email him, telling their experience buying their cars.

My experience was great and I'd hate for more negative press to taint how people think of the car.

And by the way, Jalopnik's actual review of the car was glowing.

Well, so far my experience with the KIA dealerships was negative so I would better not add more gas onto the fire...

Lol good point!

I had a dealer today that not give me a lease quote over the phone. This is after having exchanged emails. They either wanted me to come to the dealership or fill out a credit report first. Idiots.

Self-Destruct-Button.webp

Some businesses use the button to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

KIA's unfocused/misguided marketing and excess of lazy/shady dealers make me wonder what Peter Schreyer and Albert Biermann think about their great work on the Stinger being put into peril...

And that’s very sad because the car they developed is truly fantastic.

My experience here in the UK has been nothing short of perfect.

However, my experience with Mercedes dealerships was terrible.

I just emailed him with my overall positive dealer experience.

I believe most Kia dealers are working hard to provide great dealership experiences but there are always some idiotic dealers that ruin the good image the others worked hard to build.

My experience in just trying to order the car has not been good, but I "think" it is (was) the fault of the district rep. who dropped the order or changed it, not my dealer who I think was as clueless as I was until I just happened to check the VIN given as my order. So someone either dropped my order and cancelled it, or they changed from a red GT1 to a black GT2 and thought it was a stock unit. One month, and no one said a word while I'm waiting on my car.... I sure wish I could find out whose fault it was to report to Kia Corporate. This is the kind of stuff that brand-savvy buyers will not tolerate no matter how good the car is. Other than that, the dealer has been very apologetic and helpful in getting me another car coming.

I have had a great experience too, from sales to management to service department at my dealership. Even the Kia Consumer Affairs representative was great and contacted me right away after reporting an issue to the dealer.

The Mercedes dealer experience wasn't good for me, as far as dealer service on car, too and I have been to more than one. And their corporate customer support isn't that great either.

It's no question that California sucks for many things! lol

I've got to email Tom that I finally found a fantastic dealer to help me get the Stinger I wanted. I'm glad they are letting people know about the shady ass tactics these dealers are pulling so good people will stay away from them, but hopefully keep looking and get one of these fantastic cars.

KIA dealers have never had such an interesting vehicle to sell.
Plus, it just came out, and it seems most dealers will throw some ADM on there and see if you go for it.
I saw Mustangs with $2000 ADM's when the latest version hit dealers.
They'll mostly calm down and settle in with a little time.
However, dealers are only human, and not all humans are fair.
Check Google, Cars.com, etc dealer reviews, and BBB.org ;)
