I agree that all could/should have drift mode, although it would be better to have a mechanical LSD (Limited Slip Differential) as well.
Makes Jim Rockford look like a weenie.Even big long Cadillacs can drift - backwards . . .
Oh, comments: it's a damned video game. Fooled a lot of us. Heh! FTS!!!Makes Jim Rockford look like a weenie.Who was that driver? A driving god.

The way it reads is that the Launch Control with D-AWD puts up to 100% of power to the rear wheels when your driving behavior demands it. So when you know what you're doing and push the rear wheels to break free, smoke and spin, 100% of the power is to the rear. I gather that most of the knowledgeable complainers on here who have drifted previous rides will not have anything to complain about the Stinger that has D-AWD.What does drift mode even do? Is it some sort of stability program that allows lateral slip, but prevents the car from completely spinning?

You mean upshifting. Not only that but you can happily bounce the car off the rev limiter without the transmission automatically down shifting.

One could argue to make all Stingers AWD with an LSD and a true drift mode. Think M5RWD stingers : complain about traction issues and say they need AWD
AWD stingers: complain about the lack of an LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and say they need a RWD mode for fun
Why not just swap cars for a week? Lol
