I love my Stinger and I financed it, as opposed to leasing. So I plan to keep the car for 6-8 years. I have been considering aftermarket wheels, but the one year finish warranty on most scares me. I want the wheel’s finish to last as long as I have the car. Is this a valid concern?

Some other info for you ,

Got it. Thx. I plan on putting the exact same size wheels on as the OEM wheels. My main concern is how long the finish on aftermarket wheels last. Seriously considering some rotary forged TSWs.

I guess it depends on the finish , you could always apply a few layers of ceramic coating , one nice thing about the Brembos is the lack of corrosive brake dust , the front wheels on BMWs are always black and it pits the wheels , the manufacturer will supply a warranty I'm sure , just don buy wheels from China !! Lots of horrors stories about those , cracking etc . good luck

Good luck trying to find ones not made in China. Even most oem wheels are made in China now a days. Just research the brand you are looking for, find some reviews. Buy ones with good reviews..

Agreed. TSW sells a lot of wheels and have only found a couple negative reviews. Plus, Kia is going with TSW wheels on the special edition Stinger, so that must mean something.

The problem with China is it's a huge country and everyone is trying to make money with their own business. There are a LOT of good businesses that make great products - but there are more that "don't"...
I started a manufacturing business in China 8 years ago and have been there several times , I would be wary of anything that isnt supported by a Western brand and warranty sold from a trusted retailer/wholeseller

Interesting and good to know. There are a real lot of very money hungry people there. Just like here in America...

When you start shopping, start at Tire Rack. They'll never steer you wrong (no pun intended). Many cars, many with multiple sets of wheels and tires, and Tire Rack's handled everything flawlessly - including an offer to fully buy back a wheels set I purchased after they told me it wouldn't fit!

On properly made wheels, no. But those aren't usually the ones for 50 cent.

Addendum (in a new post .. don't like editing one that has ratings below :P):

As has been said, there's China and then there's China. They Mr Ping with 0 orders on AliExpress, who nobody knows what he'll send you or not and theres Xiaomi, producing damn good stuff at an ok price. I tend to use Aluminium rims without too much of a funky color. Not that even on really well made rims, if you hit the curb, any paint can simply crack off and that makes it much harder to sport repair (or impossible). I also avoid silly complexity like two or even three piece rims on a part under that much stress.

As a general rule: Don't skimp on them. You don't need the craziest hype brands for wa to much $$$, but got for a proven brand with good statistics. Wether they're made in China or not at this point doesn't matter, as these brands have some sort of QC in place and a history. It is a really bad idea to skimp on a safety part of the car like rims. And it is severely braindead to do so on a car with 370 hp and brembo stopping. Imagine the insane powers that this kind of torque applies to these aluminium stars...

Not sure what you have over there in Murica, but Europe has a ton of midlevel brands like Ronal, BBS etc, that offer acceptable quality and an ok price. I'm sure Murica has something similar.

what you have over there

In Canada amongst probably others, we have Fast Wheels Identification ,
a manufacturer fabricating in Canada direct fit rims for the Stinger (and others). If I recall directly, their Winter rims a warranted for 3 years.
No need to sign in for an account, you can browse their website easily.
Last time I looked, it saw no evidence of US dealers/distributors (yet?).
Disclaimer: I am not associated with them. :)

I'm 99.9% sure fast wheels products are made overseas. China mainly. :)

Anything is possible. The call themselves manufacturer & distributor....what do I know? (shrug).
China made is not always bad , most brand owners move manufacturing there for the lower production costs . As long as the have their own "real " QC peeps on site operating with proper input materials and production protocols ( ISO etc ) they can do a market acceptable job . I've been producing products there for 8 years and they are wonderful people but quality is not in their DNA , volume and profit is , capitalism rules in China !

It's not a given that capitalism rules out quality....just saying. :)
Totally Agree !! Dont get me wrong they can produce world quality if managed properly

world quality

Absolutely, we all know that by now. Looking at my Husquarna and the other "American made" snowblower, the local content is made up the steel pressings, the engines are both Chinese. And start every time. And so is a lot of other stuff we are not aware of, and if told, probably not believe....ha! So there, what is one going to do? What other direct fit rims are there? With a 3 year warranty on the finish?

From what their reps post on other forums this is exactly what they do. They had a lot of problems originally and now claim they have their own QC team on site in China..
