doesnt look very practical , small rear seats for sure and the hatch space would be limited I'd sayI like the concept except for the nose. Hopefully Acura is also attempting to clean up it's infotainment system.
I also like the TLX but only the a-spec model. I agree the 3 main places it's showing its age or lacking is the engine, transmission and infotainment. The engine is a great reliable engine but it way down on power for the segment its going after. They're working on a type s variant right now so it will be interesting to see what that looks like when it's done. They changed their slogan from "Advance" back to "Precision Crafted Performance" so hopefully they can get that edge back that they used to have with the Integra Type R and the Acura TL Type S.The RL/RLX needs to go away and bring back a proper flagship sedan that fits the Legend name. That car was solid back in the day.
Before I picked up the Stinger, I was looking at the TLX A-Spec. I actually don't mind the look of the TLX...better than that beak look Acura was doing for awhile (except for the NSX, that's the hotness). Handling-wise, the SH-AWD is sweet. I was disappointed in the performance of the n/a 6 cylinder, and the ZF auto is equally disappointing. They need a Type S variant (like the TL Type S a decade ago) stat!
They're not even a thing outside of North America as I understand it.
Never heard of the Acura, and like you mentioned I only like the side profile.I don't like the interior , that pattern around the infotainment system is too busy for me, if I was prone to seizures caused by overstimulating patterns I think that may set me off. That thing has a face only a mother could love, and a rear-end she'd turn her nose up at.
The side profile isn't hideous. There's hope based on that at least.
But of course, production cars generally look nothing like the concepts that spawned them - if this gets to market, we can be thankful for small mercies such as that.
Acura, Infinity, and Lexus are just for stupid Americans. Everywhere else you have Honda, Nissan and Toyota...
We have Lexus and Infiniti in Australia. Lexus is fairly well entrenched, Infiniti is struggling. Hyundai are considering making Genesis a stand-alone brand in Australia as well, I don't think it will work any better than Infiniti has.
