A little on the fence with the gt awd still

That's not many miles. I already have 7500 after only a year and 2 months on my 2020.
I've had my 2020 for a year and 3 months .. just about to 17k miles now ..
I use my sunroof at least once a week in nicer weather and still tight.

So you've had yours about the same time as me, guess I don't have many compared to you. My car is my dd but when it's nice I also drive my Ford Lightning as I store it all winter. Also, my son needs so many hours of behind the wheel so we've been practicing in his car so we end up taking the Mercedes a lot of places so he can get his hours in.

I don't know of a car that makes no creaks at all. Usually there's some minor random noises. When it's something that is repeating constantly, then yeah, it gets annoying. My BMW would creak like crazy going over any curb/large speedbump, etc. Supposedly this was due to body flex and the frameless doors, the seal would then move against the windows a little and this would create the creak, as the seals dragged on the windows. Some people went to some pretty extensive means to try and fix it, putting teflon tape on parts. Then there was the electronic brake, it sounded like a rusty-spring when you put it on, just nasty, and this was all with less than 20K miles. Ever car I've ever been in, whether it's mercedes, bmw, audi, etc., always makes a little noise, it's never completely silent. I don't know if maybe it is when you get up to the big boys like S-classes and 7-series, but I know their older versions of the class weren't.

GT2 MY19 here, Nov 2018 build @ 25000km (15k miles for you lot), only thing for me was getting some minor (cold) squeaks from sunroof, but tightening all the hex-bolts on roof and tracks fixes this for me. I use the sunroof tilt feature regularly so I can hear my exhaust. Other than that all good, car is tight as. I have "minor" modifications (i.e. racechip, bms k&n air pods, front-rear sways and mufflers) and drive "hard" ish only on occasion ;)

Suggest you test one, see what it is all about ...

Every time I drive, I like to hit the kickdown switch at least once; or not getting to do that, at least engage the turbos and take the RPM near red line. My favorite two things are cornering "spiritedly" (enough so that I can hear the tires hiss) and passing fast, if there is a good excuse to do so. I am super careful to not do any of this on crappy roads, and I crawl over speed bumps most of the time (stuff in the hatch stays on the floor), and angle and crawl over gutters/entries.

Oh (edit to add), I should mention that I have the sunroof open in all dry weather that is 50F degrees and up, probably 99% of the time except on the freeway when the speed goes over c. 60 MPH: that's just a tad too noisy.
I've had the sunroof open at 100mph+ just to see how noisy it is and it's better than my old BMW 328xi at 60mph. I'm amazed at how quiet and smooth my car is.

Only noise I had was the trunk thunk, which was a $5 fix. No rattles or squeaks other than that. 38,000 miles. I don't have a sunroof since its a GT, not a GT2

What was the $5 fix? I suspect I have it too

its a kit sold by kia. Part number 81738J5010QQK "washer and pad". IIRC, its additional washers and foam for the stoppers on the hatch. Stops the hatch from moving when you hit a bump.

Thanks! Just ordered the kit and a paint pen!

To the OP just make sure all recalls and routine maintenance were done. The squeaks/creaks/rattles might show up or might not. I have very minor rattles from the trunk area and they're not too bad. With my Borla catback I no longer hear any of it. Good luck!!:thumbup:
