Not sure I understand the question... inaccurate? as you can't see see the kerbs?
They are very wide angled lens (so that you can get 360 degrees out of 4 cameras) so the image will be distorted from what you eyes would see
What I think he is saying that the camera may show the car on or next to a line, but in reality the car is say 6 inches off...
I would probably agree, that they could use sometimes some minor adjustments/calibration - maybe if you live in a condo with tight parking spaces?
That’s exactly what I mean. For instance when I’m approaching a kerb I stop just before touching it according to the camera. In reality I’m actually still about 8 inches away
Ah! Now i understand... it's isn't a calibration thing - it's a function of the wide angle lens (super wide in photography terms) it distorts distance - the opposite of your passenger side mirror (objects are closer than they appear)
Similar to why lots of people walk of the edge of the grand canyon (or other vertical things) they are walking around looking through the camera / lens and because the distance is distorted by the lens they think they are 6 feet from the edge, when they are really only 6 inches away... and in the words of bugs bunny - watch out for that last step, its a doozy!
